Hey guys,

No one seems to want to buy my marine army. So i'm stuck with it.
So im going to strip them and repaint them (again).

With the release of grey knights coming out in april, i want to paint an army to go with them.

Here are some chapter ideas.

Doom Eagles

Doom Legion

Angels of Iron

Iron Knights

Recon these would work well with the new grey knights coming?

Also, is there a limit as to how many times you can strip a plastic model with dettol. I dont know if anyone has had this before but with some models that i stripped previously, the plastic look like it "bubbled".

I don't know what dettol is, but it sounds like you shouldn't use it for plastic. Use Simple Green, Purple Power, or a similar environmentally friendly degreaser. I've left models in for months (by forgetting them) and it won't harm the plastic. Most paints come off with a little easy toothbrush scrubbing.

I'd say Doom eagles. Firstly, Grey Knights aren't going to be the most mobile of forces (So I've gathered) and A fast and deadly jump pack army would really complement them methinks.

That and Doom eagles have such a cool name.

Use sterillium, a desinfectant for the hands that you get in pharmacys. It's expensive but you can reuse lots of times. Doesn't harm plastics in any way and removes the paint like nothing else, often even tearing the paint away when you just pour it on. Even gets rid of the undercoat.

Dettol is basically the same as Sterillium from the sounds of it.

Cheapest option out of them would probably be the simple green though. Also plus one to Doom Eagles, just don't let the teasing of their background get to you they have a cool scheme to make up for it.

I've used detol for plastic stripping, works well. Just don't leave them in there for several weeks as the detail and edges starts to soften.

Simple green seems to be the most popular method of stripping in the States. For the silver though I would recommend that you get some Plastikote Silver spray, as it make life so easy it hurts. After undercoating with it, give it a shot of varnish then hit it with watered down Badab black to give you shading and finish up with the details. Simples!

I have done the same with my WoC but using copper, and am planning to cheat in a similar fashion with the GK new kits.
