i have recently gotten into semi-regular apoc matches and the idea of having a titan intrigues me.
however the forge world titans are too expensive for me.
anyone have any ideas as to where to get one cheaper and or a good stand in (about the same size etc...)
i am not averse to converting something so i dont mind finding another model/toy to make into a titan.
ideas??
thanks in advance

There are templates for the Warhound floating about on the internet, which you can create a similarly sized mock up with card stock with them (you could also go into more detail, like some of the more conversion-hooked members of Dakka have done). There is a VERY dated Reaver Titan template floating around too, which again can be recreated with card stock for use in games if you dont want to pay for the actual models.
For models that are roughly the same size, a Warhound is a bit larger than a Perfect Class Gundam model. Dont know about the dimensions of a Reaver though, never saw one in person.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I'm in the process of building a Warhound out of cardboard and various household gubbins using what I assume are the same plans that were PMed to the OP. It's not terribly difficult to get something that is very recognizably a Warhound and a bit of extra effort can actually get it looking downright snazzy, if not FW-level.
If you can't afford FW prices, scratchbuilding is probably your best option and a Warhound is a hell of a lot easier to make, especially using those templates.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.
