So the experiemental rules for the Shadow Spectres, a new aspect for the Eldar, have been released by Forge World (http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/S/shadow-spectres.pdf)

My first impression is that these things are pretty sweet; a full squad can throw out a S10 lance shot at 60" per turn, re-roll the to-hit dice with Cynosure (Exarch power), and then use their jetpack move to hide behind LOS blocking terrain, safe from any repurcussions. A full squad, including Exarch with Cynosure, comes to 202pts, which seems pretty fair to me.

The only saddening thing is that they are a Heavy Support choice which with the current Eldar codex, is already hotly contested with War Walkers, Fire Prisms and Falcons. I can definetely see, however, a squad of these guys easily slipping into some lists alongside 2 x Fire Prisms for dual S10 shooty goodness.

What do you guys think? If the rest of the Eldar army list in the upcoming IA are as well rounded and characterful as this unit it could be a very special book indeed.

Love those models.
They look like they can be pretty devastating to be honest.

The models are awesome, it seems like they just took a little bit of each aspect and combined it together into one. And the fluff makes really no sense at all to me. As far as the rules go I think they'll be pretty nasty I mean they can deep strike, have relentless, hit and run and have jet packs plus their guns. I can't really think of any other unit that combines that amount of mobility with firepower, it's like giving normal Tau battlesuits rail guns instead of just broadsides with no restrictions.
