Does they make some changes at the TANK HUNTERS ability in the latests FAQs?

I found in many posts talking about ST10 Lasers, thanks to Logan, ST7 Assault Cannon on Black Templars equipped with this TH ability, ets..

Doesn GW makes any changes?
I still remember this rule with just the +1 on the vehicle damage table (that is allreday a very good bonus..).

AP1 adds +1 to the table.

Tank Hunters adds 1 to the weapons strength (or, specifically, adds one to the armor penetration rolls) but only when shooting at something with an AV value.

So, people say 'S10 Lascannon' because, against tanks, the Lascannon fundamentally becomes S10 thanks to the plus one for armor pen.

technically it only matters as a difference if you are shooting the monolith as it ignores the +1.

communitive property of addition 9+(1d6+1) = 10+1d6.

The problem with calling them str10 lascannons etc. is that people may be confused when you actually start using str10 weapons. A demolisher with tankhunters has an effective str of 11 as you are not actually increasing the str at all, so the 10 cap for characteristics does not apply.

Not that big of a deal but someone may get confused with your "str11" guns.

S10 is shorter than S9+1
dakka users obsessively abbreviate everything that they possibly can.
so you're going to have to deal with new players getting confused unfortunatly.

And it's pretty easy to explain that, 'No, it's not ACTUALLY a S11 gun. It's a S10 gun with a rule that gives +1 to armor pen and as such basically WORKS like a S11 gun against vehicles. In all other situations it's just S10.'

Those couple lines would easily explain everything. It's not too hard to deal with.

Or you could just say it like it is so that in case someone has a vehicle that ignores that rule (there are others besides the monolith) then that person would know they're using tank hunter and they shouldn't be, instead of them just saying "ok I pen'd you with my roll of 15."

Effectively, yes, but there will be players who could get confused by a "Str 10 Lascannon", as others have put it. I just say that the unit firing has the "Tank Hunter" ability, and assuming my opponent knows what that does, we go on from there.

From what I understand, in previous editions, "Tank Hunter" used to add +1 to the Damage Chart when rolling for a result. In 5th edition, it only adds +1 to the Penetration roll against an AV value. Also, any unit with "Tank Hunter" that is Tank Shocked will also automatically pass without needing a Leadership test. This part of the rule comes into play pretty rarely, but is still a good thing to know.

No, it didnt add plus 1 to the damage chart. 5th ed is the first time in 2 editions that the damage chart has a) been unified (rather than having 3) and b) has modifiers to it.
