Hey, I'm from Barnsley,England. I play Orks, mainly cos i really like there battle tactics. CHARGE! ......... im trying to get it into a speed freaks but im liking the idea more of a range of vehicular models, turn it into a mek army.All this is being done on a budget so i might be hitting the charity shop toys soon for cheep plastic Any tips on cheep building would be greatly appreciated. That's me, i look forward to hearing from you lot.

Old electronics are lovely for orks, lots of gubbinz for scratch built stuff. Orks are really easy to build stuff for, even vehicles. As you may have noticed their equipment isnt exactly high tech. For buildings I use foamboard.

Oops, I didnt really read that properly, I thought you were talking about buildings, not building stuff

In that case, I use 1mm thick plasticard to build everything, its pretty much and allrounder for building for orks.
One great thing about orks is that you can 'salvage' old toys and make them look pretty good, and they dont need to look similar.
One problem with being a new player and building ork stuff is a lack of bitz, especially from other races that have been looted. In this case online bitz stores and friends, are your friend.
Orks also have LOADS of rivets, I use pin head cut so they still have about 1cm of pin on to make it easier to glue, simply drill a 1mm hole, a bit og glue and slot it in.
Prepare to do this many many times though with ork shenanagins

Basically no matter how bad a vehicle conversion is it'll look orky.
Wanna make a truck? Get something with wheels/track/rocket engines and a driver/pilot
Wanna make a battle wagon? Get something with wheels/tracks/rocket engines and a driver/pilot and strap a big gun to it...

Haha thanks guys, already looted 1 of my bro's rhinos which i still have to say thankyou for and i love tinkering with the trucks and kopters. i might have to invest in some plastic card stuff, im thinking of posting some of my orky inventions on here see if i can get some expert opinions

That's the other brilliant thing... steal/buy/acquire other armies vehicles and improve them to Ork standards.

Ork standard is ALWAYS better in every way........ other than armour and shooting and technical safety, but in looks and speed there is no comparison
