iam just wondering what are some stupied/extreme things that people have done to play a game. me and my buddy sleep in the truck in front of are lgw after driving 5 hours from coming back from las vegas. is normal for people to do that?

I used to play D&D every Wednesday night at my local pub. One night, I was mistakenly scheduled to work on a Wednesday night and no one would cover me. So had a friend call my cell phone, claiming that he had been in a minor car accident and needed someone to pick him up from the hospital over an hour away from my workplace.

The worst part of this was the fact that I died twice that night in the game!

Nothing extreme, but:

I went and visited a mate for a weekend. I'd been abroad for more than a year, hadn't played any warhammer in that time (I'd actually left my army and all my kit at his place). I arrived friday, we went to the pub. We played warhammer until 4am. Got up at 8, worked a bit in the morning, played a team game all day. Then went to the pub, came back and played until 5 am. Played a big game sunday before I left. We were warhammered out!

A funnier one: same bloke and I went up to the GW HQ in Nottingham to have a game on their tables. We thought it opened at 9, and were keen to get there and secure our choice of table, so we got up early, arrived at 9 almost exactly . . . place doesn't open until 10! So we're there sitting in the car outside the GW HQ, waiting for it to open. I was thinking about where my life went wrong, I tell you. This was December, so it was freezing. Some poor teenager was out there as well, having been dropped off by someone. We had a little discussion about whether we should invite him to sit in the car with us, or would we look like weirdos? Humanity won out and we invited him in - you could see the decision, fear vs cold, in his face! My mate joked afterwards that when he got in we should have locked the doors behind him, just to see the look on his face!

Good times.

We played a inquisitor campaign non stop for two weeks, we all put in annual leave from work, best two weeks ever.

Iam just glad iam not the only one to do things like that

I've put up with terrible customers at my FLGS, who were simultaneously playing the Naruto card game, screaming at the tops of their lungs, and blaring screamo.

I've also walked two miles in snow, rain, slush, and extreme heat to game, but that doesn't seem too extreme.

When i finish school i plan to hit every tournament in a 1000 kilometer radius.

Our librarian plays warhammer so at the end of every school term we get a Warhammer day, usually an apocalypse tournament. The librarian also subsribed the school to WD, it's bad but at least better than MAD magazine and DOLLY. He gets to keep the stuff that comes with the magazine though

I once quit a job a hour or so thru my shift to go home and model(not gameing but related). Truth be telt, was going to quit anyways, one doesnt go to work to be bullied but the lowest and bitter of the work force.

Jammy thing is, applied for another job that day, went for interveiw the next day and started the day after that. Much better job, better pay and hours and yay no bullies.

So got a better job, had pretty much a full day modeling and didnt even dent the cash flow. If anything as said, it went up.

Win win.
