I'm thinking of starting a Death Company army (yes I know it fails, but hey, I want a themed force), and I was wondering could you kit bash the three squads you get in the Battleforce into a ten man DC squad with Boltguns and a ten man DC squad with Jump Packs and CCWs???

Ummm...somewhere...

I havent scene the sprues at all but i presume not,it would come with the normal DC box which allows you make 5 marines, so 5 shoulder pads, 5 torso's....and so on, you get the idea If you want a DC themed force yourgonna have to fork out the monies...or buy from the warstore

I've just done a bit of research into this and it is actually possible.

In the DC box you get:

Five legs and five torsos.
20!!! Shoulder Pads.
5 Boltguns.
5 Sets of CCW and BP.
5 Back Packs.
5 Jump Packs.

Well I can mix and match the torsos with the other kits and the same for the legs. Basically if a model has a DC legs, it won't have a DC torso.
There is enough weapons to go around and with 20 Shoulder pads, just enough to give each model one.

This is of course in theory, how one looks is another thing all together.

You get tons of Blood Angel bits in the DC box as the above poster mentioned, easily enough to spread over 10 marines and have look good as death company - because death company are painted so radically different to normal marines, they stand out even without having much DC bits. I think using the box of five to cover all 20 marines might be pushing it a little bit as the Death Company box is designed to cover both Death Company and general Blood Angels, so not all the bits are Death Company related. But despite this, if you paint them appropriately, few people will tell the difference. The alternative is that seeing as you'll presumably need more DC anyway, is to buy a second box of Death Company to boost your DC bit count.

EDIT: Been thinking about it. In the Battleforce you get:

10 Tactical Legs
5 Assault Legs
5 Blood Angel Legs

10 Tactical Torsos
5 Assault Torsos
5 Blood Angel Torsos

10 Tactical Backpacks
5 Blood Angel Backpacks
5 Jump Packs
5 Blood Angel Jump Packs

30 Generic Shoulder Pads
15 Blood Angel Shoulder Pads
5 Death Company Shoulder Pads (i.e. with the cross motif)

10 Tactical Bolter Sets
5 Generic BP/CCW Sets
5 Blood Angels BP/CCW Sets
5 Blood Angels Bolter Sets

11 (I think) Tactical Heads
6 (I think) Assault Heads
8 Blood Angels Heads

Each marine is made up of 7 main components: Legs, Torso, Backpack, Arm set, Left Shoulder Pad, Right Shoulder Pad, Head. There are 58 Blood Angels-themed pieces in the box, so each marine can have 2.9 (Almost 3) Blood Angels pieces each. Add in the extra Wing-accessories and special weapons, and each marine can have 3 Blood Angels-bits each. Plenty to conjure up a convincing 20-man Death Company.

Same deal with the Chaos boxset. Just mix and match pieces to turn all 20 marines into DCs 10 with jump packs and 10 with normal backpacks riding in the rhino. You just need at least one cross (either from the helm, shoulderpad or leg) on each member, then paint em black and you should have some very fine DCs. very cost effective too, as you're effectively getting 4 times the DCs for less cost, and a free rhino.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Totally agree.

It's an army that can be built very quickly on a budget and is very entertaining to play as you have to wipe out your opponent to win - none of this claim objectives nonsense, just axe to face brutality, I love it .
