So I'm in the middle of an escalation league at my FLGS, and I'm pondering what my 1000 point list will be. I'm playing Orks, and I like Walkers, heavy armor, and elite nastyness, so I figured this would be a good concoction.

HQ
Big Mek
- KFF, Cybork, 2x Grot Oilers 105
Warboss
- PK, Cybork, Kombi-Skorcha, Attack Squig 115

Elites
8 Burnas 120

Troops
5 Nobs
- 2x PK, 2x BC, Painboy, Bosspole, Waagh! Banner , 5x Cyborks 235
Battlewagon
- Deffrolla, Kannon, 2x Big Shootas, Grot Riggers 125
Deff Dread
- DCCW, Skorcha, Grot Riggers 100
10 Grotz
- Runtherd 40
10 Grotz
- Runtherd 40

Fast Attack

Heavy Support
Battlewagon
- Deffrolla, Kannon, 2x Big Shootas 120

Grotz for grabbing objectives, 2 Battlewagons full of Death and a Dread to run along side and smash stuff. So, yeah, simple. Ideas, thoughts or comments? Thanks in advance.

Bump? Do I smell that bad?

Any thing you think I can add/subtract to this list? Are the Nobs to much of a point sink at this level? Do the grotz need to be bigger sized squads? Is the Dread TO out of place?

Dreads aren't worth it, especially if you don't have a KFF over them (and the way you have it, you can't, the Mek is on the BW).

The Kannons aren't worth even their meager cost.

I happen to be doing 1000-point BW and Kan Spam lists tonight, I'll post the BW one here!

1000 Point Burna Wagon

I’ve never run Burnas myself (I only ever spam Lootas for my Elites). The Mek and the Boss ride with the Burnas, the Wagon boyz stay inside the KFF bubble as long as possible:

HQ 1: 105 Points
Boss, Klaw, Cybork, Attack Squig, Skorcha-Kombi (could be a Pole instead)

HQ 2: 95 Points
Mek, KFF, Cybork

Elite 1: 120 Points
8 Burna Boyz

Troops 1: 160 Points
20 Boyz including a Pole-Klaw Nob

Troops 2: 160 Points
20 Boyz including a Pole-Klaw Nob

Heavy 1: 120 Points
Wagon, Big Shoota, Grot Riggers, Rolla

Heavy 2: 120 Points
Wagon, Big Shoota, Grot Riggers, Rolla

Heavy 3: 120 Points
Wagon, Big Shoota, Grot Riggers, Rolla

This is a simpler list, but I think it's even a little more killy maybe?

Doc has got it right =) But it must be said orks have better builds at lower point levels but I like battlewagons because I am lazy and dont want to move 30 man units around like you would with a footlist.

Oh and one thing I would change about docs last list is that try running a small unit of lootas instead of the warboss

Damn I cant wait to the GW legal team codex comes out now there is a dex that will conquer all.

Thanks for the replies.

I see your points, they certainly make sense, and most of my reasoning for not starting with the simple list is sentimentality.

First, I love the burnas. 8 Templates to clear out an enemy? I've wiped out a fully decked out Marine squad with that. Feels good.

Second, the Dread. With a 6" move and a D6" run, he can keep up with the Wagons pretty well. And his destructive value is well worth his points I've found.

Hm, well, the one thing I'm definitely considering changing is the Nobs. I'm starting to envision Force Weapons and Rockets....-shudder- More Boyz.

Thanks for the advice! I'll try the list without Dreads and Nobs for a bit.
