Subject: Energizer Vs Shadow Bind

Wraith

So we had a eDenny Vs eIrusk game last night.
Couple things came up.
If a model is affected by Shadow Bind, can it move with Energizer? We played yes.
Shadow bind says a model cannot advance during its activation.
Energizer is advancing during Irusk's activation, not the Warjack's.
Were we correct?
Also. Do spells such as Venom count for a Bokur's Shieldguard?
For those wondering, eDenny got pasted by eIrusk, the only one left with a magic weapon when she was incorporeal.
He was sitting on 2 health with corrosion on him at the start of his turn.
His army also made over a dozen flipping tough rolls.

her feat doesnt say anything about during their activation, it just says when they advance. energizer says advance in its spell, so energizer would not work.

As studderingdave mentioned, nowhere in the description of Shadowbind does it say it only limits advancing during activation. So you can't energizer, can't overrun, enliven, etc. Well, technically you can, but you can only change facing.
It's noteworthy that Shadowbind only affects advancing, so other forms of movement still work. The model can still be moved by placement effects, pushes, slams, and the like.
As for the other question, Bokur is a shield guard and the description of shield guard states specifically that it can become the target of a ranged attack. Venom is not a ranged attack, nor is the continuous corrosion effect is causes.

Shieldguard only reads ranged attacks. It couldn't block Venom.

We played the correct way with the Shieldguard.
Haven't played much in the last couple months so stuff gets rusty.
I must have mis-read something last night, because the Shadow Bind thing is pretty clear to me re-reading now.
Luckily it didn't decide the game.
A couple damage rolls on Irusk of 6 on 3d6 did that for me.
