When I got back into 40K I knew I needed a Weirdboy. I didn't really care for the new metal model, so decided to try and build one out of the parts I had available. My first thought was a voodoo looking top hat and tail-coat, but that seemed like a lot of work, and I didn't have any epoxy putty to build either of those with. So I went for the mask idea, which I was able to build out of bits of the ork boy box. The paint scheme on the mask was inspired by the old Evil Sunz logo, the angry sun surrounded by a ring of black and white checks. The staff is an actual piece of copper wire from some scrap solid-core wire from a housing remodel project. Of course, it got primed with everything else and then had to be repainted to look like verdigrised copper. The bell is a SM shoulder pad and a CSM shoulder pad, being held by a severed CSM hand stuck on the end of the pole. The spare strap wrapped around his arm is a piece of paper soaked in white glue, positioned and painted. Since he's supposed to be on the larger base I cut out a correctly sized circle of black plastic and glued him to that.

He's been fielded once, as Old Zogwort and he turned the Nightbringer into a squig.

Doesn't every "magnetizing tutorial" basically say 'drill holes, put magnets in holes'?

That is an excellent idea, I've always hated the weirdboy model. may have to shamelessly steal this. :-)

Go for it! Keep in mind that the cardstock from the boy box likes to try and de-laminate, so running white glue along all the edges helps hold it together. It also toughens up the spiky bits so they don't bend as easily.

Looking great. I really like how much of a character you've got from a simple set of bits.

Great idea! My only issue with the piece is that the Bell definitely looks like two space marine shoulderpads glued together. I would have tried to make them more bell-like.

Heh... Nightbringer into a Squig.

That's pure Orc comedy, and a suitable end to that Necronty Jerk.
