Question:
Does the effect of this gear apply to individual models or the entire unit?


From what's written, it would appear any unit with a member model in base contact must make a save and I saw no clarification in the DE FAQ otherwise.

It affects the unit, as it states so. It isnt a "save" but a Ld test

Remember they can still attack other models, and with pretty much every unit seemingly Ld8, 9 or 10, it isnt a great buy

No, but it could keep the Haemonculus alive a little longer. I'll try it out a couple times and see.
