Alright, so I've been wanting to take some rough riders because I play against chaos a lot and those pesky deepstriking oblits and plague marines keep getting behind my blobs and torching them. Anyhow, I think they'd be good to wipe out those small-ish units that get behind my lines and cause havoc.

I want to give them Furious Charge with Straken, but I'm wondering...

Do they have to START their 12" charge within his 12" Furious Charge bubble or must the entire assault take place within his 12" bubble for them to get the bonuses of furious charge?

If its their first charge then they NEVER benefit from FC. They will always strike a S5 I5 regardless due to their weapons special rule.

According to the BA FAQ what counts is where you are when blows are struck. So you'd have to be within 12" when you strike (and not be in your first assault)

Yup, no benefit for str or I to the first charge by roughriders because of how their weapons rule is worded, it doesnt grant a bonus, it makes them strike at the specified str and I.

If you need a fluff reason, being furious and running extra fast at the guy isnt going to make the explosive charge at the tip of their lances have a more powerful explosion.

Dang, I was hoping for boost to the strength, but that's handy to know for the blobs anyway.
