I've Been Doing CSM for about a year now and want to make a permanent list for 1500 point games at Veterans Club At GW. I'm Not too Sure which list is better. I'd really appreciate some improvements on these lists as well as I still have to buy some of the models.

List 1:

HQ:

Kharn 165

Daemon Prince 175
MoN, Wings, Warptime

Troops:

9 Bezerkers 189

10 Marines 205
2 Meltaguns, Rhino

10 Marines 190
2 Plasma Guns, Glory

Elites:

5 Terminators 210
4 Power Fists, Chainfist, HF

Heavy Support:

Land Raider 220
(With Kharn And Bezerkers)

Vindicator 145
Daemonic Possession

Now With this list I would be using The Glory Marines To Sit Back On an Obj (If An Obj Game) with The Vindicator while The Land Raider And Melta Marine Squad Move 12" Foward, With Daemon Prince Staying Behind LR for Cover. Second Turn I would Move The LR 6" and bail out the Zerks and Move The Rhino 12" To Bail out marines, marines would target tanks with 2 meltas while DP could go for either Tank or Infantry. Zerks could then shoot BP's and assault the infantry at the front while the vindicator is supporting the infantry. In later turns the LR can turn into an AT role or transport the zerks into a DS'ing Unit.

9 Bezerkers 224
Rhino

10 Marines 205

10 Marines 190

Elites:

5 Terminators 230
4 Combi plasma, 4 Power Fists, Chainfist, HF

Two Solid HQs, both quite effective. Only better option really is two Daemon Princes
Troops:

9 Bezerkers 189
Need a PW or PF. And 8 is the right number. If you dropped the Land Raider, you obviously need a Rhino, many people will advise against 1 LR, i think it can work though.

2 Meltaguns, Rhino

10 Marines 190

Well first off, you only have one Rhino, secondly. I don't know wether its best to mix troops choices quite like this. These two squads obviously have a certain effectiveness, but 7 Plague Marines may be better? Or more Zerkers

Elites:

5 Terminators 210
4 Power Fists, Chainfist, HF
Just wrong. What are they doing? No good deep striking one HF and 4 PF and a chianfist is probably overkill.

Heavy Support:

Land Raider 220

Like i already said, some people will advise against one Land Raider. And my only issue with it in this list, is you only have one other Heavy, you would be much better off just having Rhino's and adding another Vindicator or two. OR even Defilers.

This is a very broad tactic, and as far as i know, you've already been using it and winning, but to me it just looks too general, and you will not be able to follow it very often. Having one squad not in a rhino, isn't going to work, unless its an over-costed 20 man squad. Basically this list is a little un-focused, and could do with you becoming more 'spammy' which is really the only way with Chaos unfortunately :(

Same as above, need a weapon on the Zerkers, and a rhino for the other marine squad if you keep them.

Aha, this could work. Maybe drop a couple of PF though.

Again spam the HQs, one of each isn't going to do you any favours really. Nearly every army has some long range AT which means turn 1 or 2, these are at the very least going to be made ineffective (can't shoot, immobilised etc)And as soon as your Pred has gone where is your ranged AT? And as soon as the Vindicator is gone, what is going to do it job?

Basically it just needs to be focused. I can see where your going, and it would be nice if you could make an effective Chaos list like that, but its just not going to work, which will mean you end up losing a lot :(

Thanks for that, I'll improve the list based on your comments about the LR as yeah it could be easily destroyed against Armies such as DE and I'll try and make it more spammy

My comments here are almost identical as the last posters.

The LR fits the zerkers/karn well but I have always found it to be a gamble in games under 2000pts.

Dropping the LR and pickcing up a second vindi and some rhino's would def move things along!

As for the termies in a vanilla squad like that I have found that 3 PW's and 2 PF/CF in a squad of 5 works consistantly well. Also Picking a combi weapon and spamming it is a good idead.

If you are mech make sure your DP has wings or he will get left in the dust and do little or nothing for you in a game.

Interested to see your second take on this.

That is a very solid list!

Keeping the Termies like that is ok, but I would be worried about getting beat out on initiative with all of the attacks going on I 1. Also, some combi weapons would make them a lot more vesatile . But that is just my opinion.

That list should do well for you!

I like taking DP on vehicles but for +20 on a rhino i see no point
