It doesnt say it in the rulebook, nor does it explain what an initiative test is (not that I can find anyway)

I would only assume that if written like this "model must pass a strength test or x will happen" that the owning player of that model must roll lower than the models str, with a 6 always being a failure?

Yes? No? So confusing :(

Check out the rules for characteristics at the front of the rulebook...your answer is there.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

Then again...stern jumping into a bunch of TH/SS terminators isnt going to end well for the termies.

You think that's bad, try being an ork making an I test (Jotww for example).

Marines are Good, not Crap at every stat bar attacks, and asverage there. Play someone with a stat of 2 on a test for that ground in crap feeling

Remember that even a S 10 god still fails on a 6? Failing on 5+ isn't too bad.

Sorry I worded my post so insanely bad its not funny.

I meant crap from an aggressive point of view. AKA its reasonably difficult for even the most common infantry in the game to fail a STR test ( space marines ). I Was hoping it was lower than their str, not equal or lower, so I could cause some real damage with Sterns "remove from play everyone within D6"

Works just fine on gaunts, eldar of either stripe, orks, guard, tau, basically anything not marine at the basic tropps level...

Although i grant you since EVERYone plays marines these days it's not always going to be vastly good. I have the same issue with the Nightbringer's etheric tempest. It works on anything that isn't S4+, so imagine how often i get to use it...
