Figured i'd put up a few pics of the things i've been working on lately, many could still use a bit of touch up, and really, i'm just shoot for tabletop quality
i'll eventually try and get up some better picks when i have a better lighting setup

my blood angel successors, started this army, well, probably because i really took a liking to the kits that came out with the new codex-the eyes are a touch better looking in person

next we have some hell dorado figures, i really like the style of the game, and the models themselves are rather nice to paint so far

here is the start of my goblin guard, its somewhat on hold til i can stockpile more bits

here is a demon prince i've been working on'n'off on for quite a while, its build basically out of the spare bits left after i build a guy with the csm bits, plus some sprue filler, gorilla glue, and green stuff

I really like the first squad of space marines. Angels sanguine with a twist? Anyway, the colors look fantastic!

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress
800 points of unassembled Urban themed Imperial Guard
650 points of my do-it-yourself Tempest Guard
675 points of Commoraghs finest!

all the non-basic shoulderpads in my force were from either the death company or sanguinary guard kits

arise my thread, for more wonderously need better lighting setup images

but yea, i really need to build a light box

test figure for my sanguine guard-camera flash did not help, bah

goblin guard up to 20ish guys, primed, now i gotta think of a paint job

my custom daemon, wip still. I've been working on this guy on and off for months, and is my first major attempt at greenstuff work, he's been built, disassembled, rebuilt with wings, had the wings removed, and a ton of other little fiddling around until he reaches his current form. frankly, i just got ready to move on, so i've started painting.

he started life as a spare front chest plate, head, and some arms from the daemon prince kit i had left over...not liking the face, i dug out a defiler mask and with a bit of cutting and sanding and whatnot, fitted it on.lower part of the weapon came from the blood angel dread kit...had it in hand and figured, eh, why not

i used some heavy gauge wire to create a crude sorta column for the lower body, and then build up/gap filled the back/lower body with chopped up sprue. his back then got covered with greenstuff (i need to do some work on creating muscles before the next daemon, i'm not entirely happy with the back), the "spikes" are the end bits from fantasy goblin spears.

the lower body was built up with multiple layers of gorilla glue, just letting is expand in an organic manner (i really like using gorilla glue for stuff like this)
i'm not totally satisfied with the lower body paintjob, but i'm done fooling with it- upper body, i'm going to work it up to a lighter blue with probably a gold or bronze for the metals-i'm thinking i might try some freehand runes/tattoos/something on the back to keep it interesting looking and to try and make up a bit for the lack of greenstuff details

so i finally finished painting this guy (not my best work, but i was sick of seeing this guy sit half-finished)
i may go back and touch it up at some point, though its more likely i'll just build a better 2.0 version using what i learned this time around

i decided to repurpose my chaos marines from my custom chapter i was doing (which i liked, but the split paint scheme was more hassle then it was worth) and paint them up as The Purged, which back in the day was my original plan for my chaos force
i've decided to try and paint up the force without using any metallic paints, so this guy has been an ongoing experiment to see how i'm going to get certain elements a way i like, and its been a fun learning experience so far
i figure a bit of cleanup, some more washes and a bit of highlighting, and this guy will be ready to sit and model for the rest of my force

still need to set up a light box at some point.....anyway

demon prince for my no metalic paints will be used version of the Purged, not really any all that major alterations beyond the head

two psyker battle squads for my goblin guard (i'm still trying to work out a decent looking way of having some floating with the bits i have sitting around)
