Not sure if this is the right place, I'll let the admins decide.

I really enjoy Dakka, but the one thing I feel it is missing is regional forums, for getting in touch with local players/events. The tournament discussion thread includes some events that may be close to me, but they can get lost in the shuffle.

Another forum i frequent is Pbnation. While they have one of the highest level of asshats as posters, one of the things they do well is regional forums for getting in touch with people in your local area.

I don't know if this is possible, but it would be fantastic to have discussion boards for getting games together, tournaments, store discussions, etc that were based on regions. Just a thought.

I like this idea, it would be good to be able to talk to locals, especially when it comes to setting up our new schools club.

There is an area somewhere around here where members have listed off the cities they are from. Usually only 2-4 people per city, so there might not be enough members for a regional board. However, check it out and you can hook up with players in your area - also drop your name into the list.

Any mod have a link?

Doing it by city would be too difficult I'd think. Regional would be more like Tri-state areas for small states, Large state splits, Northern California/Southern, etc.

I don't know what the most effective split internationally would be, though I'd think there has to be a way to do it.

There's a find a game section, just put in a thread saying you're in San Francisco and looking for folks to play with or whatever. Breaking the forum up doesn't sound like the best idea, as one of my favorite things about this site (and forums in general) is the interesting mix of folks you get from all around the world.

Also, the Japan section would just be KidKyoto and Killkrazy

I agree, breaking up the forums would be a terrible idea.I love the folks in far away parts you get introduced too.

My idea, that I think I did a terrible job of conveying, was to have an additional place for local topics. Not just finding a game, but discussions about stores, local events, etc.
