Because they are facing the same direction, so wind blowing hair would blow the same direction, not every which way?

They'd need to be in a tornado for it to be going in many directions.
Now think for a minute what Raging Heroes would have made of the female archer group *sigh*
(Maybe they will, after filling the niche of female IG, female DKoK, and female Dark Elves, takes a while to work through all missed chances by GW)

I'm not buying it, I don't think these are the maiden guard, I think they are some form of new elite archers.
Maiden Guard are armed with spears, the maiden guard commander pictured separately has a spear. Her slung bow isn't a magical blue blurry one. Her arms are bare and she is wearing a fairly different uniform. The headgear on them is also fairly different. Unless they make the 'maiden guard' into 'the maiden's guard', so that they are now bloke elves who protect the 'maiden' everqueen.
I think there's been a mistake in the labeling and these are something else, not maiden guard. I think they are male and we'll see the actual maiden guard later on. These are not them.

I could see that - although the Everqueen is not a "Madien" in the traditonal sense but more of a mother figure having been ritually married to the Pheonix King to bear children and then taking consorts at will.
I hope that we do get proper Maiden Guard and not just a single special character which might be what the Commander is.
The new archers can then be a extra unit from the forests of Avelorn

I agree with HBMC though, it looks very unnatural. Hair doesn't blow like that in wind. Turbulence is very strong in wind, so unless it's a strong wind, it tends to whip around every which way. Even if it is a strong wind, it tends to separate in to strands and not stay together in one neat clump like that.
When you have only 1 model with hair blowing in the wind, you don't really notice that it's unnatural, but when you line up 10 models with hair pushed off to one side, it just looks unnatural. It doesn't look like they're standing in wind, it looks like they have a crazy hair stylist who used massive amounts of gel to make their hair stand up to one side. OR, it looks like they just suddenly took a very rapid step to the left in unison so that their hair is all flicking in the same direction.

This was my first thought as well, they probably aren't Maiden Guard simply because they look nothing like the Maiden Guard Commander.

I'm failing to find the teaser in this teaser. GW are keeping this one so close to their chests that it has exactly zero real references to what is getting released.
It is an impressive teaser that expects the person watching to be psychic.

In all likelihood, this is what's going to happen. It was a bit of a crutch to be honest. With the ability to fight in 5 ranks with spearmen, who would get to go first and re-roll misses, it was pretty hideous.
Everyone gets toned down. I can only hope that a 9th edition of the book does the same to the magic lores therein.

Do we always have to get these discussions about "it's a teaser that doesn't tease anything!" whenever a video gets released?
The point of a teaser isn't to make it so individuals who are uninformed of things can instantly go "Oh! That's what's going on!".
The point of a teaser is to get you to take notice and to draw your attention.
If you were not an individual who frequented forums and was aware that High Elves were next, what would you have gleaned from this "teaser" without reading the associated text bit from it(which if one were to read and have the barest knowledge of Warhammer Fantasy would cause the teaser to immediately tell you what it is in regards to)?
You would get that an army is being released for Warhammer Fantasy. There is a fiery bird of some kind, and it involves a faction that is associated with "an eternal battle" and "courage"--and that the faction is a faction of Order rather than Destruction.
But really. The title of the blog post today("Reborn to Fight Anew") and the associated text blurb ("There's something on the horizon - something fiery, something fast. Warriors of the Warhammer world, ready your swords and raise your shields, for a mighty power will return to the Old World on April 27th.") would spoil the heck out of this teaser to someone who is even remotely familiar with the lore of Warhammer.

That teaser reminded me of the First Tim Burton Batman film when the Jet covered the moon and made the bat symbol...I also kept thinking about the Phoenix pooping on the units as it flew overhead.

As with most complaining, a good portion of it is done just because that is what is done. It is a ritual performed each time a new release occurs. I could practically write the entire thread at this point.
Omg, my wallet hurts.
Teaser wasn't very teaser-y
Omg, Dinobots/Zords/Someother pop-culture reference that I am comparing the new models to.
Best model ever!
Worst model ever!
GW is really going downhill.
Price increase rant.
etc, so on.
It's pretty formulaic.

When you've worked with complaints and customer feedback, as I did for many years, you learn that in comparison with the feedback ratio given to most companies on a positives vs negatives scale, these threads are largely positive. It's human nature to speak up and voice if you are not satisfied and remain quiet if you are, so negative comments are far more likely and positives aren't mirrors to the negatives, they are logarithmic, a compliment is worth so many complaints, sometimes to the weight of hundreds or higher.
So, GW does fairly well in these threads and on this forum overall. That is not to belittle the criticisms, many of them have a valid point and if there are a number of them occurring for a specific reason (eg if those are the maiden guard, they do not meet the previously set expectation of what the minis should look like). If there are lots of criticisms and little praise in a certain direction, it may not just be 'because it's fashionable' or just 'because it's the internet', sometimes, the emperor might actually be stark naked...

Is there merit to the complaints about prices?
Sure
Is there room for people to decide what models they think are "best" or "worst"?
Of course!
The simplest reason that I comment when we see the complaints about the "teasers" is that whenever a "teaser" is posted the forum communities behave as though they are being slighted.
After all they already know what is coming, so why do they have to wait until the same day as the rest of the schmucks who don't read forums or keep up to date?
Teasers aren't made for us of the forum communities. They're made for the people who keep their interaction to the Facebook pages of their local GW shop or "What's New Today". Those people might be rare to some, but they do exist.

Sorry if my post was unclear. By 'a good portion', I meant for it to be clear that there is still another portion of valid responses. A lot of it is formulaic and predictable, however, and I emphasized that for comedic effect.
