Heya guys. I'm planning on doing a game with my Eldar once I finish building/painting them all, and seeing as it's my first time actually playing a game outside of Battle for Macragge (I got into 40k ages ago ), I decided to follow some tips around Dakka and start small. Without further ado, here's the list:

HQ:
Autarch
Power weapon
Swooping Hawk wings
Banshee mask
Reaper launcher

Total - 128 pts

Troops:
10 Guardians
Scatter laser

Total - 95pts

Dire Avenger Exarch
Two Shuriken catapults
Bladestorm
4 Dire Avengers

Total - 92pts

Wave Serpent (attached to DA)
TL Starcannons
Shuriken cannon
Vectored engines
Spirit stones
Star engines

Total - 180pts

Grand total - 495pts

Basically, my general idea is to have anti-infantry in the Guardians and DA, with my Autarch attached to the Guardians to have a little bit of anti-tank and to get into combat to stop them being slaughtered. The WS is there to have anti-tank and to help with a bit of harrassment. DAs will try and tie up their infantry through kiting them around and distractign them, and if they need to, take them on in combat.

Please note that I don't have a copy of 5th Edition yet, so if you notice any outdated stuff or have any constructive criticism, feel free to post.

Ok. You aren't allowed to post individual point totals. Posting totals is fine, but you can't list the value of each upgrade. Its against GW and Dakka policy.

Second, 500 point lists are tricky.

This one isn't actually too bad, but it does need some units switching around.

It sounds like you've got a battle force- 5 DAs, Guardians, 1 Wave Serpent. Which is ok,

Really if you want a strong 500 point list, you'll want a farseer, and you'll want war walkers. Farseers provide an overall bigger benefit to your force then an Autarch does- who really only comes into his own in larger point games where you can milk master strategist.

War Walkers are beastly in low point games. They provide an awesome amount of fire power for low cost, and their mobility is less an issue on a small board.

Star cannons are also past their prime, cover saves are everywhere, and 2 s6 shots being saved on a 4+ is inferior to 4 s6 shots being saved on a 3+. The Scatter laser is cheaper too...

Also be very frugal with upgrades. The key to winning low point games is to squeeze as many guns into your list as humanly possible. This is once again, the reason why War Walkers are so awesome in sub 1000 point games.

I'd try a list like this using a battle force as a backbone.

(75) Farseer- Guide
(60) 5 Dire Avengers
(100) Wave Serpent- tl shuri cannon
(100) 10 Guardians- missile
(40) War Walker- 2 shuri cannon
(60) War Walker- 2 scatter laser
(60) War Walker- 2 scatter laser

Point values removed. Thanks for that.

Yeah, I did start off with the battle force, seeing as I'm just getting back in. I have prioritised getting a farseer, more walkers and possibly a second battle force after AoBR, so I'll see what I can do with them after I do so, because I've already stuck everything down and it's a bit too late to change much.

The upgrades are mostly points filler, considering that I couldn't fit a war walker in anyways even without them. Or maybe I should cut back on the Exarch.

Points fillers = more bodies with guns, not upgrades. If you want to play it out, spend some cash and get more bodies. Akaean's list is a godly 500 point list, with so much dakka, it will give any army trouble. The main reason is because of just how many guns are there, especially the S6 shots from the war walkers.

If you're going to run an autarch, which is a bad idea for anything under 2k anyway, then give him a fusion gun and mandiblaster. That way, you can swoop over to enemy TEQ or armor, shoot it with melta, and assault it. In 500 points, you can probably get away with having him run solo. Still, all of this shouldn't be an issue, because you should have a farseer.

Thanks for the tip. Like I said, I'm pretty low on models right now and I'm just going by what I have, so I guess I'll wait until I have more before I start playing. Will try and get a farseer ASAP now, seeing as how everyone says that it's an essential.
