Hello all! I have been playing 40k for over 17 years now, but i have not played SM sense 3rd and I few q's about Space marine gate psychic power.
1) Can you use gate when locked in an assault?
2) Can you gate out of a transport?
3) If 2 is yes, can you then embark a new squad into that transport?
Thanks for the help

1) I would say no, as you are not given explicit permiossion to do so. This is, however, a contentious subject
(in support of "no", it is most definitely movement and you cannot move while locked in combat, and you do not become "unlocked" until the assault phase)
2) Yes, no problem here...just leave a model on the vehicle to start with, so you are able to remove the unit from the table
3) Yes, thats perfectly fine. Same as you can embark a squad from transport A, then another unit embarks into transport A.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Jidmah - how are you making a move (both removing from table and placement back on using DS rules definitely constitute a "move") when you are explicitly prohibited from moving when locked in combat?
Cf to VoD, Sky Leap, and the waaagh psychic power that i cant remember the name of...!

Uh, I remember a thread about that - I deny anything I said, and will start purging any witnesses right away.

Never heard of gatine out of CC before, have no opinion on the matter at all.

the power has no restrictions on it's use.
it just says at the beginning of the libby's movement phase. no restriction about the libby being able to actually move.
we have always played it like you can gate out of combat.
precidence is in the Ork codex with "'Ear we goooo" that was FAQd to be useable out of CC. it has the exact same effect as Gate does(they HAD to FAQ it as the Wierdboy could be forced to use it in CC)

No such thing happened. "'ere we go!" has been worded that way when the codex was printed.
Gate does not say "even if models are in base contact"(unlike the ork counterpart), so you are restricted by the "locked in combat" rules, which disallow any kind of movement, including deep striking.
