I just wanted to toss out this question. Of all the space marine chapters, which one(s) are the least inclined to adorne their armour and go the more plain jane route? And also site any fluff refrences if available.

Well, if we're including chaos legions too, the Alpha Legion make sure all their marines look identical.

Raven Guard would have plain armour but there would be some that have more gold than Jimmy Savil...

Dark Angels don't really adorn their armor. They've very spartan.

They do wear those robes though.

Mantis Warriors actually use Camo if memory serves. So the fact that they switch up their colour scheme is significant.

Flesh Tearers. In the book Red Fury it gives a pretty good background of them being totally anti-decorum and very spartan in nature. No flashy bits for those hard asses... unless the blood of the enemy counts

Even Post Heresy if you dont count the puss and boils.

**Small, Far Away**

For bog standard vanillaryess, the ultramarines win. They paint themselves blue, with different colour trims for their company.
Basic, vanilla, and smurfy

Raptors, one of the few chapters to use camouflage and go as far as removing their chapter symbol to lower visibility.

pre heresy death guard.. again =>

they use everything straight from the box, dont even paint it

**Brother SRM**

Death Guard, before the heresy, were very spartan in their decoration. They didn't decorate their armor or vehicles at all.
