Me, my wife, and 11 year old son went Sunday to the Memphis bunker birthday party.. I played in the tourney and got 5th. Not bad since it was my 1st time using my Black Templars. I was up till 2am Painting terminators, since only painted armies were allowed. That's the new rule for all tourneys that will have prizes. I'm down with that, as anything that makes people paint is good. Mine was definitely the worst looking.

There were some awesome looking armies.
There was alot more terrain, as they're working on stuff to take to Games Day. After
GD in Chicago they're gonna do something in Memphis. The Apocalypse table was two tables put together that basically had a city built on it. It was littered with blown up tanks. I'll try to put up pics later. They also had the huge castle from the Storm of Chaos campaign from years ago. The cannon was plastic, but still looked great.
I didn't do any other activities since I was playing. Ethan painted up a bunch of skaven that he took home. And one of my marines who is now known as the rainbow warrior. He had a ball.
The best part of course was the loot! I got a
GW water bottle, ink pen, and sticker sheet for your mini's case. All tourney winners got trophies, as did the winner of Iron Painter. At the end of the night we all gathered together for a group pic. At least 30 people. Then they started giving out prizes! A little girl Ethan's age was there all weekend with her dad and brother and played in all the tourneys. She got the MVP trophy. She played orks, too. They gave away a lot of the super nice painted mini's you see in the cases. Ethan got some Chaos ogres and a beastman character. They gave away an entire painted beastman army in a case. Gave away boxed battle forces, even a boxed marine army. I got the old 80's plastic ork battle wagon. Still in the shrinkwrap! That baby is in the top of the closet right now. They also gave away a Space Hulk and the huge warhammer fortress kit. Then when we left they handed out grab bags at the door filled with blisters and boxes. Easily $150 worth in each bag. We all three got a bag, so it was well worth the trip.
