Hey guys, i recently got paid, and after setting aside some gas money i find myself with some extra cash. So my question is what should i buy, the Manticore, or the Vendetta. I currently have no other armor besides a single chimera, but other wise have several lascannons within my army. I know people take the Manticore because its competetive, which is great, and then the Vendetta for the sweet 3 twin linked lascannons.

Well it depends on the kind of list you're building but since you stated that you already have several other lascannons then I'd say go for the manticore to satisfy all your imperium approved pie plates needs

They are both competitive actually.
But if you dont have other armor I'd go with Manticore, atleast it can hide behind cover to increase it's odd of survival.
Vendetta is great when you have a lot of armor 12 stuff on the field.

This is like my "Long Fangs or Predator" question...

You are comparing a vespa to a yacht

I'd go with the Manticore, if you're only picking between the two. Since you only have one other piece of armor, the AT would quickly fell a Vendetta, while the Manticore can hide very well.

I don't see that as apt, because Manticores are hellishly good. As tank hunters alone, they're absolutely devastating. The fact that they're incredible against infantry too doesn't hurt. Manticores are boss.

Vendettas!

They're cheaper and in my opinion, more versatile. You don't have to worry about Scatter with the lascannons and they're excellent for taking out tanks and pesky basilisks and you can use them to drop off a melta vet squad any where.

So for 200 points, you get the Vendetta and a Melta gun squad which you can use to potentially take out 2 land raiders or 1/2+ squad of terminator marines. or if you use plasmas, for 245 points(may sound a bit expensive) you can have a plasma vets quad and a vendetta. Just drop the plasma squad near a terminator squad with the vendetta not too far from it.

Rapid fire the terminators and if that doesn't do enough damage then fire the twin linked lascannons into the terminators and see the devastating effects.

But I mostly recommend the vendetta because its a skimmer and can quickly go anywhere on the battlefield especially in objective games

You missed the point.

Manticores and Vendettas are for entirely different purposes and situations.

Something to remember is Vendettas don't have their options in the box. While it's not hard to chop up some spare lascannons for the conversions, if you don't have them to spare you can't build a Vendetta.

I'd still say go for the Manticore. You say you have one other piece of armor in your army - a lone Chimera. Most of your opponents will have heavy anti-tank fire, and if you bring the Vendetta, which is a massive target, it will fall from the sky. You can just stick a Manticore behind a wall and bombard the feth out of your opponent.

I freakin' love the manticore. I may buy two more and run all all Manticore list to say "I'm going to rain fire upon your stupid head." Given your lack of artillery, get a Manticore.

The Vendetta is boss though, don't get me wrong. If you magnetize your lascannons, you can swap out for missile pods and you've got two different vehicles you can use. But yeah, Manticore.
