Hello folks,
I am brand new to 40k (the tabletop version) and true to n00b form I'm going with the Space Marines to start. I will be purchasing the AoBR starter set soon, but I have been browsing the forums and blogs about starting a collection and painting said collection. In leiu of what I read I just bought a 10 man Tac Squad off ebay for cheap to practice painting before I get into the full sets. So my question for the experienced masses is: is the GW " How to paint Space Marines" book worth buying or is everything that a budding wargamer needs to be found online?

Welcome to Dakka!

I haven't purchased that 'How to Paint Space Marines' book. I have the one for citadel models in general and that has helped with some of my painting. I'm not sure if you'd want a whole book just for marines... then again maybe they give tips to paint the different types (ie: Scouts, Tactical, Devastators, Assault, Chaplains, Librarians, etc. ).

Welcome to dakka

I would recommend getting both the "How to paint Citadel and Space Marines" books, they both are helpful.
