Hello everyone.

Still trying to learn the nitty gritty rules and had a few questions. I am going to be playing against a Daemon army this weekend and was wondering if Servo Skulls would provide me (GK's) any protection against their crazy drop, shoot and assault abilities?

I don't have access to their codex prior to the game and need some help!

Thanks!

We can't help you, you have to buy the Codex.

Are you saying you don't have access to the Daemon codex, or the Grey Knight codex?

Also, if you are looking for in game advice, and not rulings, then you should post in the Tactics forum.

I own the GK codex. So let me clarify my question as I seem to be walking a fine line I wasn't aware of.

Are Daemons that come in considered using the Scout or Infultration rule and thus trigger my Servo Skull ability? If so and they scatter into the 12 inch range, what happens?

I am still sort of new around here... are posters allowed to answer that question?

Playing chess doesn't require skill, it just requires you to be good at chess...

...that would be a skill

No, they would only be affected if they are using an Icon to prevent Deep Strike scatter.

We can ask for clarification on rules, but we can't ask for rules themselves.

Eg:
"What are the rules for Servo Skulls?" This is wrong.
"Is (-----) affected by Servo Skulls?" This is fine.

No Daemon from codex Daemons has scout or infiltrate. THey ALL DS, and NONE can assault from DS

Sorry, are you saying they are not affected by any part of the Servo Skulls ability or just the scattering part?

I believe Valkyrie was talking about Warp Quake, as that is the anti-DS power for the Grey Knights.

If you take a few units with Warp Quake and use them to bubblewrap your other units, you will most likely win. They either DS away from you (meaning they won't even be able to assault you the next turn other than beasts) or theyDS near you and mishap.

Servo Skulls have NO EFFECT on ENEMY DEEPSTRIKE.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

That is NOT TRUE.

An enemy unit scattering onto, or within 1" of them will mishap. but that is the same for any models of yours on the field. They have no special effect.

Becouse its not destoryed until your on the feild. Now would the mishap cause the Skull to go away.

Getting a mishap on them would not cause the skulls to go away, while the deepstriking unit is attempting to move within 6"; they are not actually doping so(as mishap fully prevents the actual moving within 6" from ever occurring).

Now in the event that a deepstriker lands within that 6"-1.0000001" then the skull would go away.

Just check the book, it NO EFFECT.

The Servo Skull is a Counter rather then a unit for all intents and purpose.

Warp Quake is a great tool to use against them but it doesn't help you if they go first.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone!

Agree that this is wrong. The codex specifies that Servo skulls are counters and not models and therefore would not cause Deep Striking models to mishap if they land on them.
