I am trying to get into BFG and am looking to get a 1k Chaos list to try and learn with and have managed to come up with a couple of ideas:

List 1

Warmaster (Ld 8) 50pts
Despoiler Battleship (Damnation Fury) 410pts
Hades Class Heavy Cruiser 200pts
2x Murder Class Cruiser 340pts

Or

List 2

Warmaster (Ld 8) 70pts
with Mark of Khorne
Desolator 300pts
Hades Class Heavy Cruiser 200pts
2x Murder Class Cruiser 340pts
3x Ironclast Class Destroyer 90pts

Has anyone got any experience in which one would be more competitive?

It gives you fighters and bombers.

With the carrier superiority and range that chaos brings, I don't think escorts are much of a priority for the fell powers.

I've only seen infidels on competitive chaos lists for the torps.

I would add the battleship above 1000pts to be honest.

Quite a sink a despoiler under 1000pts.

460pts from 1000 is almost half.

(not that I don't pull such things as well )
