Ok, if I'm not mistaken, the rules say that if an independent character joins a unit that would enter through a means that the IC cannot enter (the whole special rules not being conferred thing), the unit cannot enter through those means. Just need some clarification, here's my idea:

Platoon led by Al'rahem w/ Lord Commissar. Al'rahem and his whole platoon MUST enter from outflank. So, does that mean the platoon cannot be joined by a Lord Commissar at deployment?

Al'Rahem allows ICs to outflank because Al'Rahem doesn't bestow a special rule on the units of his platoon. As there is no special rule the units themselves have, there is nothing for an IC to strip.

In this case, Al'Rahem giving everyone outflank is like a priest giving everyone rerolls, not like a unit special rule, such as deepstriking (which an IC without WOULD prevent).

The BRB FAQ states that ICs that you ddeclare as starting with a unit are considered part of the unit prior to deployment, meaning the LC would be part of the Platopon and able to outflank.
