So I've been reading necron tactics, and they often talk about placing objectives near board edges so that warriors can move on and claim them.

I will place as many objectives within 12” of my table edge as possible so that my Warriors can wander on later in the game and claim them.

^From Monster Rain's tactica, which was verra helpful to me.

However, I thought that warriors had to come out of the monolith portals? Or is there some exception for the first two units or somesuch? Awful confusion occurring here.

Warriors can be either in normal reserve OR come on through the portal.

ORIGINAL:

However, it contains a flaw, a minor one but still a flaw.

Objectives aren't allowed to be placed within 12" from the board edge, so you can't place them within 12" of your table edge.

At least this is the case for standard missions, and afaik for battlemissions as well.

So please don't try and place objectives within 12" and start a debate before the game has even begun

Sorry, my bad..

If I remember correctly (which it's possible I don't...woke up 10 min ago and still working on first cup of coffee this morning), the mission with two objectives allows you to setup as close to the edge as you like. In fact, I think you kinda have to since I think you set up in your deployment, which usually puts you within 12" of your board edge.

You can place objectives within 12" of the edge in C&C.
