If you dont have a big ass HD TV then theirs not really any point

But saying that, its the same on the PS3 as it would be on any Blu ray, so yeah get the PS£

It's higher quality than anything cheaper, at this point, and it has way more functionality than any other Blu-Ray player you could possibly buy. I highly suggest it.

Ive watched a couple blurays on my tv. It works pretty well. But also the PS3 is a very useful little gizmo. I use it for Netflix, and pandora and all kinds of stuff. Not having to pay for its online use is great

Blu Ray is the reason I got my PS3. But like was mentioned already, unless you have a really big HDTV, you're not gonna notice a difference between blu ray and dvd (in general). I have a 50" plasma and big nerdy surround sound setup and it works great for movies and games. I'm not a hardcore video gamer so I could care less which console is better since it's main purpose is to play movies.

Well a ps3 is not much more than a decent blu ray player
and you get a games console with iplayer on it

In your base, ignoring your logic.

Yeah, go for it. The PS3 has a lot to offer for the extra bit you pay over a blu-ray player. Just make sure you have HD cables and a hi-def TV though, if you have a 3D tv then you're also in luck because the PS3 also does 3D stuff like MLB games and other 3D movies.

Really Good. If your blue rays dont look good on PS3 YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! With the settings on your tv.

When I got my PS3, a blu ray player was in the $400-500 range still, so it was a no brainer for me.. same price plus it's a game console. I think that was Sony's plan all along though, I think they were one of the major players behind Blu Ray to begin with... revenge for the betamax I guess...

It's also worth mentioning, that until very recently, the PS3 was the top rated blu-ray player on the market.

IT doesnt need saying, but what everyone else has said is true, in that you need a large screen. I would also go a step further and say that you need to make sure that you make use of the Optical Sound cable, and the HDMI capabilities in order to see the best results.

Ps3 is a an average blu ray player. But I agree with getting the HDMI cable. Makes a big difference, especailly in games where alot of attention has been given to graphics.

I would go for the PS3

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.

I don't think you need the optical cable for audio if you do HDMI, it handles both. That's how I have mine set up and it works great

I have external surround sound, so optical cable goes exclusively through it, and hdmi provides only video to tv.. works amazing.

They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mold them, And in the furnace of war I shall forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armor shall I clad them, and with the mightiest of guns will they be armed. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.
