Is it by any chance possible that there can be an Imperial Navy Landing craft that can actually physically transport an entire regiment (3500 strong) down to the surface of a planet? The landing craft supposing to be transporting the reinforcement guard so basically it is away from most of the action at the front line.

Just wondering is all because i wrote a story and im not quite sure if it is possible in warhammer

There are such craft but they are incredibly rare.
One was downed by a Tau Manta squadron causing the deaths of all the Guardsmen on board.

Okay thanks. In my story, the vessel gets hit and crashes behind enemy lines because it was flying blind. 95% of the men on board survive.

I called the vessel the 'Christus' patterned landing craft, nick named Radient Fist
sound good?

Maybe change it to something not so near to Christ...
Otherwise you're shiny...

Well initially, it was created in the Ultima Segmentum around a forge world called Christus...that's where i got the name from
The planet was destroyed.

Maybe call it the "Libera" class drop ship...

Look at the front of the current IG codexes cover. Look closer. See those MASSIVE ships with the twin linked baneblade cannons on them? yeah. I forget what their called, the GK codex names them on either the razorback or the chimera page.

yeah i saw them. thats what made me question because in the numerous novels landing crafts are so much smaller in description

In one of the Ciaphus Cain books, they have about 5 ( i think) each transporting about half of an entire regiment, In one of the Gaunts ghosts books, they have a few when they assault this water planet, one goes down and loads of people drown, fething awesome story so it was

Tau, then the genestealers turn up. And one of the chaos ones. Both at the start while the forces are being deployed. Havent read them in awhile, but a garantee they are in it, a small one was mentioned in the book where they are defending a mine from an ork waagh, then some necrons wake up aswell

The landers can carry 1 company at a time not a regiment.
The Gaunts Ghosts ones are a touch more difficult since we never get told but i woud guess it is a similar number.

oh okay....yeah i kind of get it ...

I really wish they put out some sort of supplement book that filled in all these sort of gaps... a pure fluff, no rules, "weapons of the IoM" kinda book.

Exactly...or maybe it's for our imagination to run wild...which it does cause we end up with all these questions that we can only ask each other about :L
