So anyone know how to do the Hawk Lords symbol (same as Raven Guard but yellow) without having to freehand it onto every single marine

No problem.
Sadly, as it stands, that's really the only place to find that particular symbol.
The upside is that you'll have enough to do two entire armies using a single sheet.

make a stencil , paint it in....or use a stencil on a thin bit of gs , and paint that white over the top

Also a lot more difficult in order to save a couple of quid. I would go for the tranfers, they are one of the few decent priced things FW has.
