Now i'v got alot of armies that need working on but i thought i'll go ahead and do a FoW army. I know i want to do 1 mechanized infantry and 1 armor. But what im wondering is which country should i do for which. The German armor is one of the best (next to russian of course) but they also have a good mechanized infantry record. But the british have decent armor like the cromwell but i dont really know of any mech infantry. Which armies would be best dakka?

If you're looking at Mechanized infantry, I'd go for either Americans or Germans. Germans, if you don't want to spend a lot. Mechanized armies are, generally, very expensive, since you'll be paying for the infantry and the transport vehicles. The Plastic Soldier Company, on the other hand, will soon be coming out with 15mm half-tracks, which will certainly be cheaper than Battlefront's models, and just as good looking.

The American MIC, on the other, can field a metric arse-TON of bazookas, making them the bane of anything in assault - and the assault phase is where the game is more often than not won.

As for Tank Companies, the German Panzer IV is a fantastic tank. Be wary, however, at smaller points levels, since you'll still want infantry to cover your objectives during games. You'll find fitting everything you need into a 1000 pt list a bit difficult. On the other hand, since the Germans are so points expensive, a 1500-1750 pt panzerkompanie shouldn't totaly break your wallet.

And as for British armor, I like 3 things - Cromwells, Churchills, and Fireflys. The Cromwell is a Sherman with a lower profile and a better engine, so get it onto roads where it can zip past enemy tanks. The Churchill is a monster from the front, and the Crocodile variant, with its flamethrower, is especially potent. And of course, last but not least, the Firefly. It may have the body of a Sherman, but it's got the bite of a 17 pdr. gun, making it a fearsome anti-tank weapon.

I've got an American Airborne army and recently started the 91st Cav from Cassino.

As Infinite said Americans have so many bazookas it ain't even funny. They don't often hit in the shooting phase but more often than not, win in assault and if you bail enough tanks out the whole tank platoon bails and runs.

I think this is funny - an American who prefers British armies, and a Brit who prefers American armies.

The british have a more interesting military history than America IMO. Better tactics and training.

Panzer Lehr....bigger squads indigenous AT (Panzerschrek) and so many options and low point cost to make it sick...along with the "sturmtruppen" rule makes it an incredible Mechanized Infantry list.

The difficult anytime, the impossible by appointment only!!

I also prefer British armies. Wanted to do something different in Flames of War. Everyone who knows me expected to see me playing some type of german force. I went for the brits because most people prefer russians, americans or germans...
