Alright so I've got quite a big Steel Legion army that i have painted up in German Panzergrenadier colors. Now Im trying to expand that force for Apocalypse. I have a Baneblade and such but those dont win games in Apoc. So I'm trying to style some infantry for my use. The thing is I want to make about 100 infanrty models and make them look like Militia so I can use them as conscripts. The question is how do I do that and how should I convert them?

I do not like the look of Cadians and Catachans for this idea because they look to "professional". After all militia is just a mob of organized citizens taking up arms. I want use plastic models and GW models only because they are easier for me to convert. Which models in rhe GW range could I do this with? Catachans could be a final bet only if I truly have too....

I would combine Cadian arm bits with WHFB Empire and Bretonnian kits, myself. In theory, at least. I've never tried matching the kits in practice.

Mix Empire Free Company, Flagellants, and either Cadians or Catachans for a real rabble of an army.

Mixing the Empire Millitia or State Troops with Cadian bits could work, but it might involve greenstuffing over some of the obvious fantesy bits.

the body sizes are about the same so you shouldn't have any issues there. the poses might have issues though.
