A Skull at the Throne of Khorne

Hello, Me and some friends have recently starters to play some warhammer fantasy after played warhammer 40k for 2yers and I have some questions about the dwarf army and the dwarf code... army book!

SO! Now I have some to my questions for the Dwarfs.

1. The Dwarf battalion box is that any good to start with or do you recommend anything else?
2. If you have a Runelord do you have to have a anvil of doom or is just good?
3. Is the Army battle standard any good to have or dos the army composition that determines that?
4. And I have heard from my friends that most people don’t like the dwarfish artillery? Is canons etc a most in the army?

I hop to see some good advice and some tactical tips !

1. It's a great start 32 warriors that can be hand weapon/shield, great weapon or you can convert them to hammerers look around for conversion guides.
2. Rune Smith is great for small points, Rune Lord is great too, Anvil can be good depending on what kind of army but on their own a RS or RL is a must IMO.
3. BSB is a must in all armies with 8th edition as it allows for leadership rerolls, in smaller 1k games and below you can probably get away without having one as Dwarfs have good leadership.
4. IMO a grudge thrower is a must, cannons are great for taking out Hell Pits, Hydra, big multi wound models. Organ guns are great for taking out flankers and are used mostly on the flanks to protect war machines.

Dwarfs are great they are not limited to gun lines, they do great in combat with great weapons, I especially like Ambushing Dwarfs using scouting rangers and miners with an Anvil of Doom for additional movement.

Try and get a Battle For Skull Pass Dwarf Army if possible, it includes some nice things, the thane makes a great runesmith/lord, cannon is nice, the pony cart can be converted to an organ gun/cannon with the extra bitz from the battalion or that box just google image search it. Miners, warriors, thunderers, dragon slayer.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd
-Alexis de Tocqueville.
