I just moved back to Topeka. Most of my gaming friends are gone from the area. I have a friend or two who still play warhammer games, but its like pulling teeth to get them to play and then its like I am the most excited about it lol. So I am just wanting to see if anyone here happens to be in the area and plays 40k and fantasy.

Now i am also still rebuilding some of my army as they are quite old. I have for example to add new size bases to my terminators and such as they had changed the sizes of the bases since i last played. I do have new rule set and codex for my blood angels and space wolves and can field 2000 points plus with them. I am in process of putting together small Thousand Sons force as well as small Ork force (about 1000 point armies) for change, fun and of course smaller battles when that need comes up. Fantasy I have Vampire Counts, Chaos Mortals, and Orcs of 2000 points and up. I also have a small in the build High Elf army again about 1000 points for small battles and to play good guys every once in awhile My fantasy armies are not ready to go yet. I have the latest edition Vampire Counts armies book. I do not have the new rule set nor other army books yet of the current edition for that game as of yet.

I also had to sell my vehicle recently so sharing my wifes vehicle in order to pay some bills and hope to have something to drive in 4-6 weeks so right now I am not mobile yet Its a long story but has to do with an ex

PM me if you happen to be in the area and want to maybe have another gamer in your group . I have been playing since 1990.

I know there is one store off of Gage that has a pretty big gaming area, but not much of a selection for actual product. Lawrence used to be a good in-between, but that store went out of business iirc.

Right now, there is a large groups playing in Olathe and Overland Park, but that is an hour away for you and your limited travel.

No madam, 40,000 is the year that this game is set in. Not how much it costs. Though you may have a point. - GW Fulchester
The Gatling Guns have flamethrowers on them because this is 40k - DOW III

Anywhere worth being

Gatekeeper has people that play on Friday nights. Not sure what kind of turnout they're getting these days.

As for Lawrence, Hometown Games is definitely still open and kicking. We fill 5 tables generally every single Tuesday, and have a good variety of 40k and Fantasy players.

If you're looking to get a game in sometime, shoot me a PM. There's always a couple of us Lawrence people willing to bomb it up to Topeka to catch a game!

Yeah that place off Gage used to be where I went all the time to get stuff before I moved away from Topeka. Since I have been back they have new ownership and less product like you have said. I tried chatting with a guy there who i guess plays warhammer and felt like I was a waste of his time (no one was in the store). I remember back in the day when you would have to keep track of time leaving there because they loved talking about 40k and fantasy... different times i guess.

Yeah that would probably be hard for me $ wise to go that far when i get a vehicle in few weeks. Maybe cool if they have some special event though and in time i could afford to drive farther. My job right now mainly supports my kids health insurance.

That would be cool . I will probably be able to in 4 weeks or so and might then be able to drive to Lawrence as well again depending on funds. My armies are pretty dated, not sure if that will matter at all to you all?

Nah not at all. We've got plenty of models and armies about going all the way back to Rogue Trader. Come on by sometime!

Hey a few buddies of mine and myself are just getting back into warhammer fantasy, having last played 6th edition. I've got 2k of beasts and dwarfs, and my buddy has OnG and High elfs. A few others are thinking about starting up with us. We also have some old 40k stuff (3rd ed) but we haven't committed to playing that yet. We play at the gatekeeper usually on mondays or tuesdays. What day do they play more there fantasy or 40k, and do you know if they run any tournaments? We're just looking to get some games in, not be terribly competitive.
