Stalwart Space Marine

Hey guys,
So, in the course of painting my Sons of Orar SM I decided I needed more conversion stuff and while waiting for that a couple things have diverted me towards scouts. I've always been a fan of ninjas and while reading some special forces type book I happened across a great thread here with some sweet shotgun scouts (I'll post a link to it or give a shout out to the author in the morning). Inspired by that and a great painting scheme for scouts I saw a while back I decided I need a very stealth oriented scout squad for my Sons of Orar company.
TL;DR What do you think of my scout's ninja suit?
Edit: it was Brother SRM's shotgun scout squad, here; http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/381929.page

Thanks guys. It's the first time I've done any highlighting, and the gradient for the fabric. They'll look better with the rest of the squad and their over the top sergeant.

I thought Sons of Orar wore red; judging by your avatar, I'm guessing your scouts just wear blue? Either way, it's a well painted miniature. Some highlights could use a little cleaning up (his hand and his butt armor are what I noticed) but you've gotta base this guy - basing models makes them look 10x better, no exaggeration.

Yeah, I figured they should be dressed pretty stealthy and just have the SoO logo on the one shoulder rather than be all flashy and colourful like the Space Marines.
I've never based models before, I need to get around to that one day. And maybe highlight the leather straps, we'll see.

It's not something you should wait to get around to - I have a whole Space Wolves army that I took that same approach to and now I have no clue if I'll ever base them. It's much easier to do when the model isn't painted yet, as you can just spray prime the basing with the model.

I'm not huge in painting the cloth of the scouts white, but without doing something with the cloth it ends up looking somewhat monochrome. I understand not wanting the stealthiest guys in the army to look flashy and eye catching, so maybe a different shade of blue or perhaps a middle or light grey. I don't know how a bone or khaki will match the rest of the army, but it would probably work well with a dark blue scheme and still look pretty military and stealth.

It's an ugly planet. A bug planet.
