I am new to this game and I'm trying to see who all at DakkaDakka plays. My son and I have just purchased a few starter fleets and were wondering who play this great ship based game.

For those of you who haven't been introduced to this game Firestorm Armada is a ship based d6 space combat game that reminds me of the great battles in Star Wars, Battelstar Galactica, and Babylon 5. It costs around $60 US to get into the game with an entire army with all the bells and whistles costing $200 max! Don't know about you all but my last 40K army cost 600.00 for 1750 points! Add to that you also can use any minatures in this game it gets even better.

I have a 1000pt Alliance fleet based around the Dindrenzi starter

Just three firestorm armada players in all of Dakka Dakka? There must be more. Come show your fleet alliance.

I play Terrans, Sorylians, and Directorate myself. I have also collected some of the alliance ships to use on both sides, as they are just too neat

Just so you know, the Rense fleet will not be a full-on boxed fleet like the 6 core ones, at least according to current planes. Instead, we will get the Dreadnought, the cruisers, and the escorts. You can play them as an independent fleet, but that will limit your tactical options as they were really intended to ally with the Relthoza, Directorate, and/or Dindrenzi fleets.

I *just* got Dindrenzi and Sorylian fleets. Looking forward to playing.

I've been seriously looking at starting this as well. By starting, that means me buying a fleet I like, the rulebook, painting them up and then not playing a single game as there is not much for a miniature gaming community in SE Minnesota. I like the looks of lots of the fleets w/ the exception of the Relthoza. I'd also like to acquire some BSG ships to play, since the system supports a ship creator system, but again it'd just be me collecting ships I want.

I myself have a sorylian starter fleet

I just recently came across the hangar18fasa.com site. Nice stuff there which is exactly why I was considering it. Iron Wind have some metal ships as well, though pricey imo.

They are a bit pricey but brilliant quality I have almost a wing of their metal fighters and raptors and 2 of their battlestars.

Hey Veritechc I have really been wanting to play this game. which fleets do you and Dante have. I was gonna choose one "good" and ond "bad" guy fleet but I want to get fleets that are a good match and play with really differnt style. Will you and dante come over sometime on the weekend to teach me. I think Matt Onken would like to learn too.

I was thinkin about starting out with the Sorylian and the Dindrenzi forces. Anyways. call me sometime, i will message you my phone number.

I will do you one better. Dante and I have started a Firestorm Armada Community page its called: The Black Ocean. Go check it out and tell all the local guys.

We are putting out our first podcast episode in early September!

There is much in the works for Firestorm and all I can say is we are in touch with most of the main players in this scene. I'm hoping to jump start the tournament scene.

Dante and I have the Terran, Sorylians and Relthoza. He like the Relthoza because they have stealth fields and feel like the Eldar do to him. I will give you a call soon.

Yeah, this is really needed now that Fathom's Reach has gone under :(.

We are working hard to replace what Fathom's Reach was.

We are endeavoring to become the central hub for the great game that is Firestorm Armada.

Our site already has some pretty cool resources. I was unable to view Fathom's Reach site before it was closed. If anyone has any items they want posted please let me know.

I did not see a choice for that. I believe all of the information that was from Fathom's Reach is up and have searched the Spartan site.

You could always take a Zenian League Support Fleet and just paint the other models in Marauder colors?
