Here's what I'm thinking for 1k games. I'm not really too keen on the Reavers, I'll likely end up swapping them out for 2 eagles. Critique away!

Prince w/ Great Weapon, Armor of Caledor, Dawnstone
212

Mage w/ Lv2, Silver Wand, Guardian Phoenix
170

24 Spearmen w/ Command
241

10 Archers w/ Musician
115

5 Dragon Princes
150

5 Ellyrian Reavers w/ Bows, Spears, Musician
112

Total Army Cost
1000

Personally i liek the build, i think youll be able to get some decent milage out of the dragon princes too at this points level, i would definately drop the reavers stick in a great eagle, upgrade your prince so that hes carrying the tali of pres instead of the dawnstone, and maybe throw some command into your princes, remember DP are awesome on the turn they charge after that they suck monkey specially with a whopping S T 3 lol, i like full command wiht banner of ellyrion on my princes

Also what Lore is your mage running? at this level id consider giving him a seerstaff and shadow or stick with the silverwand and go either metal or High

Food for thought!!
Cheers

Are you hard-set on the Prince? For the same points, you could get a decent-sized unit of White Lions or Swordmasters that would probably do you more good than the lone Prince.

What Lore are you planning on taking for the Mage?

I suspect dropping the Reavers for 2 Eagles may be a better investment.

The biggest weakness I see with this list is the lack of hard-hitting units. You have the Dragon Princes, but they're likely not going to be enough. I think a block of Swordmasters or White Lions would really make the list far more competitive while still giving you a bit of action in every phase.

I was thinking Life but I'm not hard set on that.

I'll write a second list sans lord and add some swordmasters.

I'm not sure the mage needs a ward save; sitting in the archers should be fine.

Archers are great.

Spearmen don't really need a champion or the war banner.

I'd try and find the points for a musician on the Princes.

Also try and find the points for 2-4 more swordmasters and give the Bladelord the Ironcurse icon for a bit of defence against war machines.

The eagles are great.

Overall, i'd prefer:

Mage w/ Lv 2, Silver Wand, Dragonbane Gem
150

10 Archers w/ Musician
115

25 Spearmen w/ Std. Bearer + Gleaming Pennant, Musician.
245

5 Dragon Princes w/ Musician
160

12 Swordmasters w/ Command + Ironcurse Icon, Banner of Swiftness(+1M)
230

2 Great Eagles
100

Army Total
1000

The gem on the Mage is because there were 5pts left over, and nothing really costs 5pts; plus a 2+ ward vs flaming attacks may come in handy.

I prefer Gleaming Pennant on the Spears. With Ld8 and 25 models, they stand a reasonable chance of only just losing combat; getting a 5pt re-roll on their break could be the difference between staying and fleeing. It also buys you time to get your princes or swordmasters into the enemy flank.

Princes get a musician because Swift Reforms are very handy, the the Swordmasters get a few more boots on the ground and a bit of WM protection.

EDIT: Also, forgot about the Lores. If you take Life, you want at least 4 of the spells, so life is only really suited to a lvl 4 archmage, either with the silver wand or the seerstaff. At this level, i'd take shadow for the myriad debuffs (plus OM on the spears will cut through most enemies with ease) or High Magic for Shield of Saphery on the Swordmasters, Flames of the Phoenix against hordes, Curse of arrow attraction for the archers etc. Try out Shadow and High in a few games first, because they're both great lores.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
