I really want to improve my techniques in the areas of skin/cloth/armour and the anime/manga 'Giraldez - infinity' style.

Is there anyone that runs workshops in Australia? I've been scouting through the GD winners archives from last year and it seems our best are quite far behind the skills of those in Europe which is a bit of a pain as that's a bit far to travel for me in the quest of paint skills improvement. I could not be finding what I'm after though.. Someone with the skills of Giraldez/Morback/Fontaine would be great though if we have anyone like that.

I'm in Perth but am happy to fly east for tuition.

Redscorps, you should be teaching, not being taught. I'm just gonna say that.

Hey thanks Chowderhead & Capitansolstice. I think you guys got about everything I have up my sleeve though in that article on the GW site.

Though it was compressed to a lot fewer steps and detail than what I actually do but the process for armour and weathering is quite simple and fast.

I have been playing around with painting some skin and fabric lately though and this is where my infancy in the hobby is showing through, I am really not happy with my skills and would like some coaching.

I'll post up a pic of my Lady Justice from Malifaux tomorrow so you can get an idea of what I am talking about. It passes for table standard but I am not happy as I want to improve.

Thanks again guys,

Jack

No problem Jack. I've also been reading your blog, and looking at your Facebook page from time to time.

Now, I haven't seen any of your other work besides your Space Marines, but I'm sure they're equally as good. Also, if you have a Webcam, you could probably Webcam with some of the painters here on Dakka.

Oh now that's a good idea! Maybe I could do classes by correspondence! Now you're thinking dude!

(Added me on FB? What's your name brother?) Hard to keep track when everyone's got usernames and such.

Skin and cloth are hard and I suck at them
maybe PM someone whose work you like and ask for a tutorial

I'm Matt Felsenthal. I just added you, as most of the photos I was interested in were public. But nevermind that! I'm sure if you ask around Dakka, people may be able to help you. There are also videos you can buy. I recommend this one.

She's won far to many Golden Deamons to be bad.

This is also another one I found. It's cheaper, and might be more your style.
