Hey, here is my 1750 BA DoA list based on advice i received on Dakka a while back and before i finish buying the models i need for it, just want to see if anyone has any helpful suggestions on how to improve it.

Lbrarian (Jump Pack, Blood Lance, Shield) 125
Honour Guard (Jump packs, Melta x4) 205

Sang Priest (Jump Pack) 75
Sang Priest (Jump Pack) 75

Assault Marines x10 (Melta x2, PF) 235
Assault Marines x10 (Melta x2, PF) 235
Assault Marines x10 (Melta x2, PF) 235
Assault Marines x10 (Flamer x2, PW) 215

Vanguard (Jump Packs, Power Fist) 175
Vanguard (Jump Packs, Power Fist) 175
1750/1750

I'm not 100% sure on the Vanguard and Honour guard, i just don't see them being able to do enough damage for how many points the cost. Honour Guard could make their points back and then some easily if there are targets such as land Raiders or Leman Russ squadrons on the table, but 5 man units of Vanguard? Would i be better off with Dante? or Sanguinor? or a reserve Stormraven or two with someone like Meph inside?
I'm really keen on trying to get this army up to scratch, painted nicely etc, and hopefully win a fair few games all of which i haven't been doing much of lately with my Chaos. But i don't have much money to spend to get what i have up to 1750, so really want to get a pretty solid list done before i go and buy anything else.
Thanks

Seems great to me. There aren't any wasted upgrades, and you have lots of redundancy.

I'd try Unleash Rage on the Librarian instead of Blood Lance.

As for the Vanguards, they seem like they perform best against armies that have squishy, valuable stuff to charge, like Long Fangs. If this isn't the case in your area, you could try Missile Devastators instead.

Current Record: 5 Wins, 6 Draws, 3 Losses 2000 points

In Progress: 500 points

Ahh Missile devastators I forgot about them.
Really, the units i play most often than i can see Vanguard killing are Hive Guard, but one of the two Nid players who used Hive Guard at my local club will be more than aware of this threat and protect them with Gargoyle/genestealer screens. Not that his Hive Guard would be all that effective against an all infantry army anyway.
Thanks for the comments and suggestiong

The list is pretty cool man. Consider plasma guns on the Honour Guard, they will tear apart light armour, elite units and monstrous creatures in a single volley. Plus they have feel no pain for the nasty gets hot! rolls. Then you will feel they've got the points back.

Vanguard would be better mixed up wargear so a hammer to at least auto shake vehicles and easily wound monstrous creatures and not forgetting smashing elite units. Power weapon for chopping up infantry, probably two actually, and then couple of melta bombs for vehicles as well. Add in furious charge from a nearby Priest the Vanguard will tear a unit a new arsehole.
