Here is a space marine chaplain I have recently painted up for a painting service I am offering. What are your thoughts? Took me roughly 10 hours of casual painting. I am particularly happy with the gold and the way the jump pack engines came out.

I think it looks fantastic! I really like the blue effects on the jump pack.

I would like to see more of a glow from his eyes and jet pack burner to differentiate between the gems.

I really really like how subtle the shading on the black areas is. Very nice effect.

Glory is fleeting, but obscurity lasts forever.

Considering also your duty as a warrior you should not waver. Because there is nothing more auspicious for a warrior than a righteous war.

The paintjob is very nice. Have to agree with lunahound though, red eyes would make it look more awesome

Thanks for the input.

@UnCool Villain & Gutsnagga: Thank you, the glow on the jump pack and the heated metal on the edge were tests. First time I have tried that effect, I am pleased with the result.

@LunaHound: I will think about the eye glow. Not a big fan, seems more of a chaos marine thing. I never thought of marine eyes as beacons, more like lenses. I will consider it though.

@Ssgt Carl: Thank you, I spent a lot of time trying to decide if I was going to do a subtle blend or a higher contrast.

@Viersche: I wanted blue because it was the accent color and since I used red for the seals and the grip on the Crozius, i felt it would over saturate the model with red. Also I wanted to maintain a good guy look as much as possible for a guy in black armor with a skull for a face.

Thanks for the information. I am spending a lot of time staring at this model looking for things to improve or alternatives for future models. I enjoy opinions, help me see things from different eyes.

Love the paintjob, love the model. Gotta get around to painting my sort of conversion for that model actually. I took astorath the grims backpack + wings and with some not so careful cutting and filing put that body on the front of it.

What chapter are your other marines?
