Me and my friend both want to do a pre-heresy army, but I can't decide. I like the Iron Warriors, blow up gak get bitches, mentality, but I also like Death Guard, Word Bearers, Luna Wolves, and Thousand Sons. If any of you have any opinions I'd love to hear them.

Another one I kind of like is Night Lords, but I'm going to convert a Primarch and Curze would be pretty dificult

Depends on what you want from the army.

If you wanna use the GK 'dex and like magic you should go with the TS.

If you like gritty, steel guys with lots of tanks and techmarines then you want iron warriors.

Word bearers would be great to use BT models and codex.

Death guard and luna wolves are more "standard" but both still have allot of character and good colour schemes.

Pretty sure it's the same as post-heresy. They just added a chaos star to the legion markings.

The short story 'the Iron Within' from 'Age of Darkness' gives a pretty good depiction of loyalist Iron Warriors - they're pretty hardcore and good guys, to boot, if you're looking for a different perspective.

Go word bearers, their my favorite pre-heresy chaos legion...and you can use the DA models for them

I think that TS are the ones for me but WB are pretty cool
