Accornero said he was surprised that his charge of treason against the president of the United States has gotten so much attention. He said this isn't about him but about average citizens without a voice.
"I'm kind of overwhelmed that this thing has taken off like it has," he said. "But I have received hundreds of calls from people throughout the country expressing their dissatisfaction. The only reason I got attention is because I have 'representative' in front of my name, which is kind of unfair, because every American should have a right to challenge their president and their government."
First, if he's legitimately surprised, then he's an idiot. Second, he's probably not legitimately surprised, but that's what he has to say politically. Third, good job on reminding us that state legislators can get away with rhetoric that is more extreme than that of their national counterparts.
The email in question wrote:
Open letter to all Members of Congress,
I am formally asking you to bring a commission of treason against Mr. Barack Husain Obama.
We have a President who allows our borders to be violated by illegals of any country while we are at war. He allows them work permits, access to our services and when apprehended by law enforcement refuses to have them jailed or deported. Barack Husain Obama has crossed the line, and under Article III section 3 of our Constitution is guilty of treason by giving aid and comfort to the enemy and attempting to over throw our government from within. Now is the time for members of Congress to finally do your Constitutional duty and hold Barack Husain Obama accountable for his crimes against America. Mr. Obama is a fraudulent president who is selling out America. Its time Mr. Obama is called accountable for his treasonous actions. I can only hope our members of Congress have the intestinal fortitude to do what needs to be done. It is time to make up your mind "Do you stand with this fraud and treasons president of with the American people and our Constitution which you swore to protect and defend"?
Thank you,
Harry Accornero (phone number omitted by me)
Representative, Laconia, NH

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.
As ive said many times this past week, I'm nowhere near a democrat, and nowhere near a fan of Barack, but this gak is childish.
We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.
The good news is that I think Great Britain is more than willing to allow their wayward American children back into the Empire's fold, allowing hereditary monarchs their rightful place in telling their unruly children how to behave.
Even if I were to take this seriously (I don't), I don't think a state legislator from New Hampshire has enough experience with illegal immigration problems to actually judge the merits of both sides of the issue (as if they're even concerned with that to begin with).

A) A population of 1.3 million people.
B) One of the largest parliamentary legislatures in the world.
C) A lot of Libertarians and other crazies, as well as old-school mountain people. Look up the Free State Project sometime.
wikipedia wrote:The New Hampshire House of Representatives is the lower house in the New Hampshire General Court. The House of Representatives consists of 400 members coming from 103 districts across the state, created from divisions of the state's counties. On average, each legislator represents about 3,300 residents. If the same level of representation were present in the U.S. Congress, that body would have approximately 99,000 members, according to current population estimates. Members are paid a salary of $200 per biennium, as are New Hampshire State Senators.
One of the benefits of having so many representatives, and it not being a lucrative position, is that we get legitimate citizen-legislators, as opposed to full-time politicians. One of the downsides is that we do get a fair number of nutjobs, idiots and kooks.

I don't get it. Is that meant to be a jab of some sort? Because if that's the case, I feel I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that that's not how our political system functions. Also, Great Britain isn't a nation. You may be thinking of the UK, perhaps?

That. That means we'd have to go back to Spain.

Oh, I was harkening back to the good ole' days when Great Britain was our great and magnanimous ruler (prior to 1801, mind you before the Emerald Isle was sutured onto the empire. I could however say England because the American colonies were under the crown even before 1707 before the Acts of Union). We didn't have to worry about governing ourselves, levy taxes, or worry about our defense. Great Britian did all of that fore us.
The point was was that there is all this bickering and hatred for US politicians and what they do/do not do. I merely suggest a better alternative which is let someone else manage America then.
Why not our former overlords?

Then we'd just bicker about the incompetence of British politicians (and it is legion).

But at least it wouldn't be an American politician.
