Here's my Ork Trukk. I have another still in assembly.

It's painted mainly with craft paints. The metal color is Vallejo and Tamiya. I realize the craft paints aren't as "smooth", but I don't think it makes a really big deal with Ork stuff.

Comments welcome.

Thanks for looking.

Looks good, perhaps a little clean but I like it.

I am now accepting commissions for any hobby project! I've been in the hobby since '92. Specializing in traditional brush methods, creating a gritty dark aesthetic. From single character models to entire armies. From individual terrain pieces to entire table tops. From tabletop level to masterclass level painting. From purchasing and assembly to leveling up your assembled armies paint job. If it has to do with the hobby I can do it! Hit me up and let's chat about your project!

Yes I agree, good paintjob but too clean for orks.

Nothing wrong with craft paints unless your trying to win a painting award or something. Everything I have is done in craft paints as well, and you can get a pretty good result when used well enough. Nice trukk

Thanks all.

What would be a good way to "dirty it up"?

I've won painting awards with craft paints. Heck, I used to paint commissions and 90% of the paints I used were Ceramcoat (craft paint). Granted, Ceramcoat is, like, the top of the heap of craft paints. But, still....

Personally, I think the trukk looks good. Nothing wrong with a clear paint job on Orks, if that's what you're going for.

I like the dingy/semi-rusted look of your trukk bed.

Thanks.

The trukk bed is a combination of washes (raw siena, burnt umber, etc.) over a black base with metal layering. Took several tries to get it to look right to me.

I agree, if you like the clean look then go for it, I prefer the clean look on mine as well, just rusty is all

I found an effective weathering technique to be a splotch of black done where you want the paint damage on your basecoat, follow on top of the black with a hit of metal leaving some black to show around the edges. Mix a bit of delvan mud or sephia or any of your favorite wash and dab it onto the metal. From here you can even stipple on some series of bowns to orange depending on how rusty you want to get. I dont know if you want it that extreme. If you follow the links in my sig to my ancient thread and check out mamons tank you can get an example of this technique taken to a much further level of decay, its not what i think you should do for your truckk, but it gives you an idea of what you can do.

very nice and don't stressto clean this really shows off your talent without muckingup a great job.

And I must say "hobby paints" would never had been brought up if you hadn't mentioned them. I personally find citadel paint to hard to work with and us ceramicoat and apple barrel a lot. Even use mortuary paints and even food coloring at times.

Good work

Very nice trukk!
One way to make it look less clean is to have the panels on the trukk different shades, and some dark colours on it, like they're been ripped off of something else.

Nice.

How many Space Marines does it take to screw in a lightbulb.

6, 1 techpriest and 5 tacticals that stand around trying to pose like badasses.

An Ork, Space Marine and Eldar are walking down the road. They see a Chaos portal that has a sign on it. It says: 'say what is true or be sucked in'. The Space Marine says: "I think I'm the bravest" and walks past safely, the Eldar says: "I think I'm the most agile" and walks past safely. The Ork says: "Me thinks..." and gets sucked into the portal.

Conduct While Gaming
While rolling a die, do not say, “Anything but a 1!” unless you wish the die to come up as 1. Any other such attempts to anger the “Dice Gods” will result in the existential equivalent of continuously flipping a coin and having it come up heads every time (for reference, see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). Your dice will be cursed to roll ones for everything other than morale checks, which will come up sixes.

ORK PLAYERS HAVE A LIMIT OF 1 SCREAMS OF WAAAAAAGH PER HOUR. violators will be forced to play tau.

Players with chimeras and las weapons shall pronounce chimera ki-mere-uh, not chim-ere-uh. Violators will be forced to play nothing but world eaters. Non-40k personnel must purchase and build a chimera.

youd greatly improve this (already good looking) trukk by highliting the red areas with metal colors. Thisd get over the impression that the color is painted onto bare metal

LOOK!! a shameless self-promotion! (gasp!)
