Now normally I wouldn't gander at the Ork Codex (Being a Tau first and Guard second), but after reading the unit entry on Tankbusta's and Tankhammers, and Bomb Squigs, I can't get them out of my mind. I wanted to start another Guard regiment but Tankbusta's seem tremendously fun to play.

Tankbusta's with Tank Hammers and Bomb Squigs in a Looted Wagon with a Boarding Plank and Grabbin' Klaw just seems so... amusing.

Moving 13" ('Cuz red goes fasta) unloading the rockets on the closest transport, then 'accidently' dropping the squig so it scuttles to the next closest. Or driving sidelong to a Monolith, grabbing it, having a Tank Hammer run across the boarding plank and smacking it into oblivion!

Who needs a Power Klaw? Fetch me more tank hammers minion!

What could go with these ridiculously fun units?

I was thinking an all Trukk w/ 'Ard Boys and Power Klaws. Maybe Rocket Buggies and some Burnas in a Looted Wagon...

2 problems with what you want to do.

Can only go 7" and fire (only combat speed for units to shoot.)

Glory Hogs as a rule sucks. Tankbusta's need constant LOS supervision to be useful. Using the transport is a very good way to keep them in check though. Also, they're pretty useless outside 24". I personally don't use them, but you can make them work with the right list.

Ah, so used to having my Tau skimmers and their multi-trackers.

Do bomb squigs count as shooting? ICR since I do not have the actual Codex in front of me.

But from what I understand though, they can still move at Crusing speed and still use the Boarding Planks to assault with their Tank Hammers, which is a boon because infantry always assault rear armor, and go from there. Not sure about the Grabbin' Klaw, I gotta invest in the Codex next time im in my LGW.

I see alot of ways to skirt around the Glory Hogs rule, since the Looted Wagon can be driven independently. Shooting is a definite thorn, however, there's plenty of those shiny Storm Ravens that flat out in front of me with their shiny bits a'sparklin'.

Few things to counter this. Glory hogs isnt really a bad rule. They have to shoot at or assault A vehicle with LOS to them. And if you think about it, you WANT to shoot/assault vehicles with them anyways. And you can very easily stop your opponent from trying to kite them around. If you move say, a trukk infront of them in the movement phase, SURPRISE! the LOS is broken and they are good again

And their threat range is 30 inches, which is outside of 24 inches. Those are assault weapons, therefore you move 6 inches, and THEN shoot 24 inches. Just saying.

But, OP, your idea could be put to use, you could always stick them in a trukk with boarding planks and such, and its faster/cheaper then a looted wagon.

I thought Trukks were for dedicated transports for the Boys?

Tankbustas can't take their own trukk (or any other dedicated transport), they'd have to borrow someone else's, but that's not especially difficult so long as you have another footslogging mob nearby who don't need their trukk.

Personally I'd go with a trukk (for speed) or battlewagon (for durability) rather than a looted wagon.

Whenever I run Tankbustas I usually run 15 of them all with rockkits in a battlewagon with itself a kannon. Each turn they move 7' (red paint job) and fire off 16 str 8 shots a turn. Though honestly I find that this tactic works less on vehicles (smart opponents usually have cover, front armor facing me, or got me at range), but monsterous creatures. Tankbustas devistate tyranids, who have a decently hard time taking out their BW shell!

SHOOT EM! CHOP EM! If they still walkin' they probably cheatin'
