The premise of this army is simple: A themed Lamenters force, reasonably competitve, with minimum amouts of yellow and black/white checkers to paint.
HQ:
Malakim Phoros, Chapter Master of the Lamenters (using Dante's rules)
Librarian with jump pack, shield of sanguinius and sanguine sword
Elites:
Furioso Librarian Dreadnought in a Drop Pod with locator beacon
Sanguinary Priest with jump pack
Troops:
Sanguinary Guard with chapter banner and 1 power fist
Sanguinary Guard with 1 power fist
Sanguinary Guard
8 Death Company with bolters in a Drop Pod with locator beacon

This army comes up to 1500 points.

People tell me that Dante-wing (Sanguinary Guard spam) doesn't work. I think that with the above setout, it can. Descent of Angels allows me some pretty acurate and timely deepstriking, combined with the 2 drop pods' locator beacons. Using the principle of target saturation and careful placement of the Priest to grant Feel No Pain, as well as blowing away plasma cannons and the like when I come down, should help offset the small amount of vulnerable elite models. Please post in the comments whether you think this works and what advice you would give.

‎"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Guard are going to love you...

Remember that using drop pod assault half of you drop pods must be placed in your first turn, the rest come in with normal reserve rules... So either your dred or your death company are really going to have a bad day at the office. Normally DPA works using a large number of drop pods - thus bring more troops down first turn and having target saturation., or having fire support in half of your drop pods (thunderfire cannon dreds etc) which can then be dropped in defensive firing positions, bearing in mind dreds are relentless so therefore can deepstrike then fire...(I think?).

Lack of AT perhaps? In the mech heavy multiverse - which my FLGS doesn't seem to have caught onto, tanks are everywhere and CC generally isnt the way to go with it...in my opinion anyway (unless you're a scarab or a nid!)

Why a death company with bolters? Surely with furious charge, the extra WS, extra atack over your basic marine you want them in HtH so the bolt pistol and chainsword would be the better config - plus it saves them from getting shot to pieces?

He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy!
