Hey guys, I figured that it was prolly better I stick these pics in here rather than the Painting & Modelling section:

Ol' Kaldor is the first GK mini I've painted... I actually have some termies begging to be painted up at home. I do worry that I rushed him too much though (took about two evenings) as I can see a fair few noob mistakes... but eeeh, c'est la vie. I will fix it all when I can be bothered :p Though I do need to stick writing on the banners, I shall likely do that when I do it for the whole army.

Anyhoo, enjoy... I just hope my crappy mobile camera doesn't spoil the pics too much!

It's really a shame the quality isn't as good as it could be, that Draigo looks really well painted!

The sword and shield look great!

The effect on the sword looks good from what I can see - if you can beg, borrow or loot a proper camera off someone, be sure to reshoot this mini.

Is this the finecast one, by the way? Also are you sure that sword is straight? It doesn't look it, but that could be the picture quality screwing with my perception.

Did you know? The Reach belongs to the Forsworn.

Hey guys,

Fortunately my sister is one of those 'amateur photographers' who likes to take abstract pictures for Facebook (y'all know the type ;&gt... since GKs are my current project I am sure that when I go home for Christmas I can borrow her camera to take some squad shots! Hopefully I can then repost this Draigo as well as some Paladin buddies.

And aye, he's finecast... it wasn't a perfect mould; if you look real carefully you can see his shield is asymmetrical; the side closest to his face had warped a little and not produced the proper trim, I had to file the whole thing off. It's hard to notice but a bit of a shame. One of the purity seals on his right shoulder has also sort of... melted? But it's fortunately hard to notice, not enough to make me want my money back at least.

The sword's slightly bent, I immersed it in warm water and tried to bend it, as well as heating it up with a hair dryer... but I'd say it's prolly the camera making it look bad, it's 'straight enough' imo.

As for the sword, I think that a proper picture would betray how simplistic it actually is... it looks good enough for me but the effort on my part was rather poor; Chaos Black coat, then I just did the pattern with a rather thick application of scab red, layered up into blazing orange with the red visible on the edges, then I just did a thin highlight of sunburst yellow down the centre. Highlighted the edges of the sword with codex grey but that's kinda difficult to see.

The mini itself is just boltgun metal with asurmen blue
