Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

The intro song on the video, ManticMoments Ep2 The Invitational Part 1 of 3, was really bad. The "Cookie Monster" style Mantic Moments singing was bad.

I'll listen to the rest of them after dinner tonight.

Best of luck!

I'm still on episode 1. So far, so good.

@Kronk, that was an imitation of what we thought orcy (Mantic's semi-mascot) would sound like.

LOL! That was funny, but awful. It might be alright if it was a bit shorter. Maybe just the chorus or part of it?

Ok then. Just giving you feedback. If that was on the start of all your podcasts, it's enough for me to never listen again.

Just sayin'.

Well, that's true with everything in life, isn't it?

I'm from the future. The future of space

I listened to both episodes while I was painting up some miniatures last night.

Quality stuff. I liked the honest reviews of the ranges so far. And the tournament report did a lot to let me see just how the development plan for the game is going to work.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Just wanted to add something:

During the podcast, lord marcus mentioned that his undead horde came from a desert and that the ruler of his undead had managed to possess and enslave the souls of some orcs (who will show up as they are part of the same army list).

I've been playing a lot of Warmachine lately and this really made it clear what I've been missing. In Warmachine, anything that's a character is already a pre defined character. And there's not actually any real room for making up your own army or its history.

It reminded me of when I was playing 2nd edition 40k and making up my own Space Marine chapter for the first time.

Indeed Frozenwastes. The abillity to add "allies" has lent me great creative freedom, namely soul-slaved orcs and a cult of humans. I'm also planning on adding another contingent of undead with a slight variation to my color scheme, representing the forces of one of my characters vampire generals (who has just awoken)

Mantic is very open with the KoW background. They have given us borders within which to sculpt our own lands, nations, and armies with which to fight our miniature battles. Some may even become part of the official background (possible due to tournament wins, etc. Ronnie mentioned this early in KoW development)

My own work has even been featured on the site in the fan fiction section.

KoW truly gives a level of character/army creation that i have not seen from another game.

I hope your podcast and the game grows.

It's rather enjoyable game for those who want a quick game or a few quick game or have very large battles that don't excessive amounts of time.

I just home Mantic is not stretching themselves thin by releasing 2 games already as a young company that is coming off as a "Not GW's 40k and fantasy" game.

I caught up and listened to all the episodes.

Fabulous podcast.

The allies rules are indeed a refreshing change from other games which have either pretty rigid rules about combining forces or have been actively switching away from ally rules for the last decade. I remember when 40k had them in 2nd edition and then in 3rd, there was lots of Inquisitorial allies, kroot mercs, the lost and the damned, etc.,.

It's awesome to see the hobby-first thinking present in a game again.

I'm definitely going to be submitting some stories to them for use on either their website or the new free PDF Mantic Journal. Maybe they'll actually use them.

My own work has even been featured on the site in the fan fiction section.

I'll check that out.

Glad to see you liked the rest of the episodes. We actually just recorded a new one, so look for more soon!

If you are looking for my work on the mantic site it has been giving off a 404 error, which I am looking into. However I will be posting a new piece in the dakka fiction section in about 5 minutes (after this post)

I am indeed happy about the mass creative freedom with KoW
