Hi, im starting Ashlyn, and i have decided on what i consider to be a solid strong 35 point base. But i am having a lot of problems figuring out how to expand out to 50 points.

Here it is at 35

so, now i am wondering how to add 15 more points. Some things i have been throwing around are some steel head riflemen, some gun mages, or just some more halbardiers. Does any one have any thoughts?

Gun mages are just dandy with Ashlynn; her feat is bonkers with crit effects, and makes high DEF models untouchable. If you bring some with the officer, either get them their own Mule or pass Rutger's over; a sniped or critical brutal'd Mule is just delicious. I see you've got gorman in there already but I'd also recommend looking into the ragman and/or Aiyana and Holt; Ashlynn, like many merc armies, doesn't tend to have the tools to deal with high ARM and/or high damage box models. In your 35 pt, you've only got 1 Nomad who'll get to make more than 1 high-POW attack per turn; once that one's gone, high durability models like khador heavies, titans and the like will be difficult to slow down.

PS don't forget how incredibly annoying Vanguards are when being charged under the feat: a friend of mine used to play Ashlynn a few years back, and I can't count the number of times he'd just plop a vanguard half a foot in front of my heavy hitters, pop feat, and watch me lose my mind trying to get it out of my way.

Yeah, that is the idea, i use it to block a path to her, then, against mele lists,i up keep admonition, so that if anyone tries to make contact with her, she can just move behind them and set up an assassination run on the enemy caster. So gunmages, and officer, and a mule, that is 16 points if i am not mistaken, which means i need to lose a point some where. Now here is where i am flummoxed, what do i get rid of to drop that point? Id really love any help you can give on the issue, thanks!

gunmages will give you a bit of meat as well. i also recommend Rocinante. he isnt out yet but i have proxied him tons and his is GROSS with ashlynn. just getting the +2 def for ashlynn is worth it.

i usually take this as my skeleton for an ashlynn build:

Ashlynn d'Elyse
Nomad
Arcane Tempest Gun Mages (Leader and 5 Grunts)
Arcane Tempest Gun Mage Officer
Mule
Horgenhold Forge Guard (Leader and 9 Grunts)
Rhupert, Piper of Ord

it is 26 points, and forms the backbone of alot of my lists. when rocinante is released he will replace the nomad. i would fill it out with key solos or a filler unit like SHH or alexia.
