What with ultra shooty necrons and GK's dominating as well as the IG mech wall, is it still possible to have competitive daemon lists? I really like the Fateweaver model and also the upcomming book Archetitect of Fate is making me think of building something Daemons with fateweaver. Would the poor weaver stand a chance in today's gaming environment?

Weaver is good, but the odds of a daemon player coming up against a GK player are really high in compedative tornaments. This isn't to say that daemons cannot beat the GK's, but I don't think the same army (Khornate) that beats GK's wins tornis.

I play a fateweaver Tzeentch only list which i would consider far from optimal but it still does quite well.
Shooty daemons have on average quite high ap and do well against MEQ armies however struggle against AV13+ vehicles, because of this and Tesla weapons Necrons are a pretty bad matchup.

Why is Tesla bad for daemons and fateweaver in particular? all Tesla weapons are ap - and most daemons are inv save only thus negating the negative of Tesla making them very cost effective against daemons.
The Tesla arc ability is particularly bad vs Fateweaver as you want as many units within the reroll bubble as possible thus making extra arc hits far more likly.

GK is not so bad for shooty daemons as we are allready poor in cc which is where most GK shenanigans come into play, guard has allways been a good matchup for daemons if played correctly.
