Don't know if it works in exactly the same way as kustom forcefields, but what proportion of a squad / vehicle / vehicle squadron needs to be within 6 inched to benefit from the lovely 5+ cover save that shield of sanguinius provides?

So long as a single tiny part of the base or hull of a vehicle or unit is within the 6 inches the vehicle, squad or squadron gets a cover save.

It is almost identical, really.

The only real benefit of SoS over CFF is that it's not on in your shooting phase so enemies cannot use it against you when they close in.

Blood for the bloo... wait no, I meant for Sanguinius!

But KFF gives vehicles the obscured result for a 4+ cover save unlike SoS which only grants a 5+ cover save.

They cant use it, see GW FAQ - only if an army rule *specifically* states it can be used by an enemy can it be.

Not to dig up an old thread but I did a search for information in regards to the 5+ cover save working on vehicles and found a bunch of circular threads.

Was a conclusion ever reached and/or a FAQ released in regards to Shield of Sanguinius? The GW FAQ does not mention the cover save (or at least mine doesn't, might need to update it). Nonetheless, I just wanted to know if any changes had been made.

My group has always played it where any unit could use the 5+ save against a wound/pen/glance as it seemed logical.

Edit:
Nevermind, went and checked GW seems my FAQ was from Dec last year. They have since updated their FAW and have clarified the rule. Thanks in advance to any posts.
